    D&D 4E 4E Essentials: Dungeon Masters's Kit in Hand

Does your token sheets say some thing like Monster Tokens A, Monster Tokens B, and Character Tokens?

Essentials: Magic items for characters starting above L1?

There is nothing about this in Heroes of the Fallen Lands (or the Rules Compendium). I'm hoping to see something in the DM's Kit.

    Falling Into Water

So the answer is no, it isn't in the book. Thanks for the suggestions guys.

    Falling Into Water

Hello, I have my Essentials Rules Compendium and I've searched through the rules, but I can't seem to find anything about filling into water. I was assuming the damage would be lessened, right? Is this rule in the book and I'm just overlooking it?

    Essentials and Treasure Parcels Analyzed

Thanks Truname for your example of the system in action. I see treasure #10 didn't generate any treasures. So, would you reroll that treasure or just throw it out? What if treasures #3, #5, and #7 also generated no treasures? Would you reroll them until they generated a treasure?

    D&D 4E 4E Essentials: Dungeon Masters's Kit in Hand

Only a nat 20 gets you a rare item. Odd or even determines uncommon or common. My question is if you go through an entire treasure list and not generate any items. Do you check that treasure off as a loss or do you reroll the entire list?

    [Essentials] Awarding Treasure

Hello, In the Essentials Rules Compendium, on page 298, there are rules for generating treasures. The DM rolls 1d20 for each category and if he/she meets or beats a target number for a listed item (or items) the treasure is awarded. For example, one of the treasures for a Level 1 Party reads...

    Monster Manual 3

I'm thinking of picking up MM3. But, can anyone tell me about the errata? Does MM3 require modifying the monster stat blocks so that they match the current rules?

Fortune Cards: and randomized collectible cards come to D&D

If I ever have to buy some cards to play D&D, I'm done. Same thing goes for requiring digital media from the internet.

My FLGS sold me the Red Box early.

My local shop has them for sale today too.

Essentials: Magic Item Rarity Explained, it's actually good!

This is my favorite part of the article, and speaks directly to the way I want my D&D campaigns to be:

Essentials: Magic Item Rarity Explained, it's actually good!

I dislike the idea of buying/selling magic items at all. That shouldn't even be an option. You want a magic item? Go adventuring.

    Birthright??

I love Birthright and still have all the books. I'm currently running an AD&D 2nd edition campaign in Birthright. No PCs are regents. They're all "commoners" and are currently exploring the Elvenmere marshlands in the Barony of Roesone. The party is half-elf ranger, dwarven fighter...

New "Red Box" Starter Set hands-on preview

Ahh, I wasn't paying attention to the damage ends part. Thanks. I love this power, awesome.

New "Red Box" Starter Set hands-on preview

Whoa, this is interesting. Am I reading that power right? You are a toad until you make your save? Can someone just stomp on you and kill you?

    2nd edition AD&D help

In AD&D 1E, if you move more than 10', you cannot also make a melee or ranged attack (nor can your opponent attack you).

    GenCON News?

Something about a Ravenloft RPG where you can play ghosts, vampires, werewolves and other things that go bump in the night. Also, DM Kit and Rules Compendium will have option treasure award systems that are different from treasure parcels, including random generation.

    non-4e D&D Players . . .

No. I was interested at first. However, the other day I took a long look at my gaming book shelves and realized that I have all the books with the words Dungeons & Dragons written on them to keep me happy for the rest of my gaming life. I'm starting a new AD&D 1E campaign in two weeks. B-)...

Do You Plan To Use Essentials In Your Game (No '4.5 Edition Sucks' Plz, Kthx)

Yes, this describes my plan too. I'm even going so far as to only allow class/race combinations that match AD&D 1st restrictions.

    Essentials Rogue is up!

Yeah, I don't care at all about previous 4E stuff. I'm planning to start an all-essentials campaign in Sept. If it isn't in an Essentials product, it isn't in the campaign. Gonna be very old-school dungeon crawling and exploring with only the class/races options from Heroes of the Fallen Lands.
