AH-HA! This is the thread I've been waiting for since you bailed on us at PJ O'Rourkes, Mr. P-Kitty...something about catching flights or something...bah! :D If there's room, can I slide into Wulf's Grim Tales (Woot! Can't wait to see it!) and your Spycraft in the PM? Any idea how far Newton...

What new fantasy books are good?

I gotta agree with ya on two things: Brust is great, and Mieville is (ducking for cover) pretentious. Couldn't stand Perdido Street Station. IMHO, of course... :) But I LOVE Martin...read them after hearing so much talk about them here, both good and bad, and haven't regretted it a bit...

Warduke is coming to Dungeon #105

Hey now! Quest for the Heartstone was a great and fun mod for beginnners and those new to the game: 1. Pregenerated characters that (generally) looked cool 2. Classic, cliched, and therefore easy to run with plot 3. TONS of encounters with random critters! Sure, most of them made no sense, but...

Warduke is coming to Dungeon #105

Oh man...what was his name...I know he was GROSSLY overpowered compared to the others in Quest for the Heartstone...(Henry beat me to it!) The wizard (also from the cover of the PHB reprint) was Ringlerun... The dwarf was Elkhorn... The female cleric with the staff-mace was...? I'll check the...

Warduke is coming to Dungeon #105

Wow! Gonna have to go rummage up the box with my old DnD figs in it...may have to give Tiamat here some company now... I would be even more psyched if they got Tim Truman to come back and do the art... -Rugger "I MissThoseOldDnDFigs!"

Anyone seen Kill Bill yet? [merged]

Heheh! I had the opposite reaction. My GF is a real trooper...always going to the flicks I wanna see...but I was worried about Kill Bill being not her kinda film. She never once squirmed or seemed uncomfortable or distracted the whole time, and at the end, she looked at me with a PO'd look and...

Anyone seen Kill Bill yet? [merged]

Nothing like a little of the old ultraviolence... :) I loved it. Lotsa little references and nods to 70's Asian films...Ultra-hot Uma from planet Thurman coming across as a "not so good person"... I worry about my generation (I'm 28) though...the violence was SO over the top that we laughed...

Midnight: My players wonder--What's the point?

OT for a sec... Ashrem: the Netbook is FANTASTIC! Not only is the writing and rules quality great, it looks like FFG was cool enough to let ya'll make it LOOK pretty. This is one netbook that will actually see use from me! :) Back on topic... Midnight could very easily feel like Star Wars (a...

    air walk with mount...

Is this an actual paladin mount? If so, then its got an INT of 6. Thats in the Half-Orc range. Do we have to train half-orcs to do tricks? "C'mon Krug! Give daddy a power attack! Good boy!" Don't think so. Paladin mounts are smart enough to not require tricks. And heck, I've seen paladins...

    air walk with mount...

I'd say he could do it no problem...he's smarter than the average bear (or wolf...or horse...or celestial dog...), and "wired" to you. Methinks those training rules were meant for more conventional, non-special mounts and pets. -Rugger "I Airwalk!"

    Smallville and Angel Premiere

I know about the ring....it's the idea that he suddenly WANTS to wear it that seemed to be out of character... Don't get me wrong...they have the hooks into me. I still (and will) continue to watch the show...there's too many cool little quirks I like about it. :) -Rugger "I Krypton!"
