That's not true either... Roll20, Fantasy Grounds, Foundry all sell official 5e D&D products (some more then others) and are already full VTTs. OneBookshelf sells 5e D&D compatible products for that in PDF and in VTT form. Heck, OneBookshelf also sells D&D products, from old editions and for 5e...

OneBookShelf didn't need Hasbro or even WotC money to become successful, I would say that they became successful despite WotC/Hasbro. And when WotC/Hasbro backtracked on their (old edition) pdf policy, they still went for the industry leaders instead of doing their own thing... And OneBookShelf...

That's not completely true either. Shadowdark had a $250 pledge which contained a lot more then just the 'game'. And Coyote & Crow had a $400 pledge with art prints (and a $160 pledge with the books + a Roll20 version). Both did 13k and 16k backers respectively, Cosmere is doing almost 40k...

Not just for sub money, but I'm pretty sure that they also take a piece of the cake of the product being sold on DDB. Looking at Industry standards, 30% sounds like the industry 'standard'... And publishers might have to pay for their product conversion to DDB... WotC/Hasbro is just utilizing...
