Looking for a book on armor.

The Heroes of High Favor series (Dwarves, Elves, and Half-Orcs) from Bad Axe Games has some. The Enchiridon of Treasures and Objects d'Art from ST Cooley Publishing (PDF available at RPGNow) has some, too, including many (perhaps all? I haven't checked) from the Heroes of High Favor series. I...

    Using Miniatures.

I've purchased single minis from both FRPGames.com and popularcollections.com. I'd buy from either again.

    Swapping feats?

We allowed the switch in our group, provided that the original feat had never been used. That sounds like a good idea, although it didn't come up in our group.

Stacking Caster levels - feedback request

I like this, too, if you figure caster level for each class separately. For example, a Cleric 11/Ranger 4/Wizard 5 would have caster levels of cleric 20/ranger 4/wizard 10. I like this idea a lot. I think I'll propose it to my group.

If you changed the spell casting chart...

If you don't mind going a little higher than 6th, there's the Hedge Wizard from Mongoose. It get lots of low level spells (and cantrip-based special abilities), but fewer (and later acquired) higher level spells (ending up with one 8th level slot at 20th character level). It looks like lots of...

    4CtF Revised - What's new?

So I'm finally getting around to possibly using 4CtF, and I see that there's a revised version out there. Other than the d20 Modern stuff (which doesn't interest me), what is new? I understand that there were some revisions to the power costs (and that there once was a file that contained...

    Three Cheers for FRPGames!

The aforementioned FRP Games does, as does Popular Collections. I've bought from both, and would recommend both. Edit: Popular Collections is a little easier to use if you buy multiples of a single mini, due to the way the shopping carts work, and tends to have more in stock at any given time...

    Printable Dungeon Tiles

Lemonbutter.com has a few free ones that look really nice.

    New Flavor Spell

There's a 2nd level spell protection from water in Mongoose's Seas of Blood that permanently waterproofs an object up to 2 cubic feet. That would protect your books without a high XP cost, and imho isn't a "power-gamer spell." If you want to use your area spell, though, I also think it's weak...

    Most expensive ebook ever!

I have the Adobe 6 reader running on my Celeron 450MHz laptop with Windows 98SE. I haven't tried the DRM stuff on it, but the reader works fine. (I installed the file I downloaded from Adobe's website--no problems.)

Armour with no spell failure or 5%

Mongoose's Ultimate Equipment Guide has a property that can be added to any armor that, IIRC, reduces spell failure by 10% and AC by 2 among other things. With it, you could make a mithril wizard's chain shirt with the following stats: Type: Light; AC: +2; Armor Check: 0; Spell Fail: 0%...

Which of these books are you buying?

Expanded Psionics Handbook: Maybe. (I have the PH and like it, but have never used it. I'll probably hold off until I get a chance to actually use it.) D&D Map Folio I: No. Complete Divine: Probably. I never bought the other splatbooks, so it's all new to me. Eberron Campaign Setting: No...

Homebrew Spell [Storm of Crows, nasty conjuration]- tell me what you think

I'd have two concerns: 1) You do near maximum damage as soon as you can get it (or maximum if you're a sorcerer), since it caps ad 10d6 and 10 rounds, and you can't cast it until 9th level (or 10th, for a sorcerer). 2) It's non-elemental damage, so there's no real defense against it. That...

I haven't seen that update. Are they sent out over time, or all at once? Did I miss it?

    Bizarro World Crafting System?

It does create new (but similar) market prices, but it also makes the time required to make the item make more sense. For normal, "off-the-shelf" sorts of things (like blankets, candles, and even standard quality weapons and armor) I think I'd just go with PHB prices, but I think I'd be...

Heh. I posted about the EoTaOdA too soon (see above).

    Bizarro World Crafting System?

This is pointed out in The Enchiridion of Treasures and Objects d'Art (a PDF written by The Sigil that's available at RPGNow.com). The EoTaOdA provides some alternate formulas (based on the type of item) that make a bit more sense, but are a bit more complex. I haven't made use of them since I...
