    Shadowdark Finally Played Shadowdark

I agree with all your points, but in the best tradition of the Internet, I have a small nitpick. MM does 1d6+1 in Basic. As a nerd, I automatically fail my saves vs useless pedantry.,

Ben Riggs: 'The Golden Age of TTRPGs is Dead'

Indeed. I'm also of the opinion that we're living in a real golden age: the hobby is widespread, the flagship game is successful, there are tons of different games available in many different styles and a lot of older material is accessible on PDF. Not to mention that it is possible to play...

    Spoilers Alien: Earth Spoiler Thread

I see. Personally I really wouldn't care too much about his opinion. Alien is a masterpiece. Prometheus and Covenant? Not so much. Aliens, OTOH, is a great movie, despite what Scott might think about Alien queens.

Do they have some contractual obligation to involve him? I'm not really clear on who owns what with the franchise.

    Star Wars: Andor

I think that The Battle of Algiers is a great movie, a true masterpiece, IMHO. I also appreciate that while it is a very "partisan" movie, it still shows also the French point of view and does not shy from showing the brutal effects of the FLN terrorist attacks.

AD&D 2E First example of official max hp at first level?

The Mentzer Red Box suggests max HPs at first level as an option.

    Star Wars: Andor

I'm finally catching up with season 2, so - until I finish it, I'll stay clear of the spoilerific thread. So, just a small question: am I dreaming it or are there frequent musical callbacks to "Ali's Theme" from the Battle of Algiers? Given that the movie is about the struggle for freedom...

    D&D General D&D: Literally Don't Understand This

There's bad and there's awful. This is firmly in the latter category.

OSR OSR-inspired video game, The Secret of Weepstone, has a trailer

It seems to me that, at least so far, WotC has been very tolerant (or maybe very indifferent) with "old-school" look-alike products.

Purple prose is basically a foundational trope for Swords & Sorcery... :D

OSR OSR-inspired video game, The Secret of Weepstone, has a trailer

Yes, likely it's not a real module, but it would be kind of cool if it was.

Cool video. I could find very little info. Will they be making a module as well or is that just for the video?

    Spoilers Alien: Earth Spoiler Thread

For me, the original movies were more variations on a theme than actual sequels (even though they "pretended" to be sequels).

    Spoilers Alien: Earth Spoiler Thread

Yes, I've always felt that continuity shouldn't be scrutinized very closely in the Alien franchise.

    Spoilers Alien: Earth Spoiler Thread

I'm sure that was extremely purposeful, to subvert a classic element from Alien. As a cat lover and as someone with a phobia about damage to the eyes, that scene was unsettling!
