    Variant Assassins

well, they might be. Can you tell me a tad about them, were they like a wizardly assassin, cleric assassin and such? How were they variant. And did you find them cool/interesting? If so I might look into getting the issue. Tellerve

    Variant Assassins

I remember in some post awhile ago there was mention of some sourcebook, non wotc, that had a variant assassin. I believe it was a PrC. In any case, I've scanned through the last 10 pages of threads and missed it or it has fallen farther back. Was wondering if anyone knows of any variant...

    Grapple questions

Upon first reading those RotG articles I really like them. I've been trying to get grappling to work more how I know it works in RL. LOL which I know is a really silly thing to try and do, but nevertheless, some of the new options in there I do like and will impliment. isochron- I'd...

    Grapple questions

ahh, i see. Yeah, the SRD is a bit misleading as they put 'trigger' at the end of spell completion, instead of leaving it off, which led to my confusion. Thanks for the clarification. Would you have a wizard that was grappling need to make a successful grapple check as per pulling a light...

    Grapple questions

A wand question while grappling question. The SRD under magic wands says you can use a wand while grappled or swallowed whole. However, in the grappling area of the srd it says you can't use a magic item with a spell completion trigger, which is what a wand is, so what's the jist of that...

    Wand of Wraithstrike Market Crashes

I agree with you Shard, making the swift action wands into standard action wands indicates to me that the designers are Meta-gaming themselves and trying to block holes in the mechanics that some players might exploit. So what if a rogue has a wand of wraithstrike and for 4500gp he wants to...

    Wand of Wraithstrike Market Crashes

Wouldn't it already be "harder" for the fighter 'cause he couldn't use the wand in the first place?

    Greatsword weilding caster

I could be wrong as I can't remember if you can do Free actions not on your turn, but if you can then when someone was provoking the AoO couldn't you free action your hand back onto your sword/staff? Or right before then I guess. *shrugs*

D&D 3.x Give unto me your "Power Gamer's 3.5 Guide to Rogues"

Yeah, kinda was talking about the giant bonus :) I agree they are a specialized race, but they are way specialized for it. Perhaps I'm jumping on them too much, just liked the idea of goblins being a good rogue route with 30' movement. But here you get plenty of more goodies. And I do still...

D&D 3.x Give unto me your "Power Gamer's 3.5 Guide to Rogues"

I have a goblin rogue in an Eberron campaign and I think they are good for their niche as the small rogue, almost to the edge of good/too good. But these li'l guys, with their 30' movement like goblins, darkvision, lowlight and all the gnome dodge bonus goodness and an addition +4 to hide, yeah...

    spiked armor twf

Well, by RAW you are correct and I'm wrong. However, I don't see it as a huge stretch to attack twice with a part of your body covered in spiked armor. I could see where that statement could get me in trouble, but spiked armor isn't a great weapon. I was more imagining a situation where it...

    spiked armor twf

Well, could you consider Armor Spikes more akin to a doubleweapon, like a quarterstaff? So that the armor spikes on one armor could be your primary and the armor spikes on your other arm the off-hand? That's what I'm driving at...that I think armor spikes should/could be considered a double...

    spiked armor twf

why's the gut reaction egads? The benefit is un-disarmable weapons. Spiked armor doesn't have a good crit multiplier and isn't the prime choice for TWF. But in any case, I asked for opinions and I got 'em, so thanks :) I still think it would be too bad, but I'll have to think more on it...

    spiked armor twf

In a recent thread on Power guide to rogue it was mentioned to use a weapon and shield (heavy darkwood because of the no armor penalty) and armor spikes for TWF. I hadn't ever thought of the idea and was thoroughly intrigued by it. I've been thinking about it a lot lately and enjoying the...
