Challenging my high-lvl group (NPCs and monsters; my players shouldn't read this!)

Am I the only one that finds it odd that there is a displacement for her when it seems like her description would pretty much deny such things? *shrugs* Tellerve

Sins of Our Fathers - 2/10 - Final Update

Awesome! That post really had me thinking "Tolkien-esque". I would so love to play in this game! As always, great update. I loved Raylin's last line, let myself have a good chuckle with that one. Tellerve

But Dad, why am I a fugative?!?

Sounds very good, although I wonder about those black helicopters and the people behind them. Would they be some government fringe that is trying to round up the "failed" experiments? Would they leave the "normal" government law structure out of the loop in trying to capture the group...

Modern d20, NYC Testing the waters

New to the NYC area and thinking about running a Modern d20 campaign. Testing the water to see if there is any interest. Thanks, Tellerve

    Blood & Fists: Cool!

Hey Vigilance have you revised Blood n' Fists yet? I noticed a few posts back in this thread you said you were planning on doing so. Tellerve

    Cool under Fire

I'm sure that people don't want to kill, your right. However, depending on your campaign there is killing and there is shooting the sludge monster/zombie/horrific demon summoned by some evil corporation. So while a character might not want to kill a guard with a bullet through the head they...

    Cool under Fire

One one hand I think it is pretty interesting and would help those games where perhaps people are being a bit too gung-ho about running through a hailstorm of bullets. However, that DC is pretty dang high and if rolled every round it just doesn't to me seem right. When I imagine rules like...

Sins of Our Fathers - 2/10 - Final Update

Ooh, nice post Destan. Great imagery, and restraint by their players not to smack the pompous golden boy. Oh, and for what it is worth, I didn't have any problem with the ghost child speaking from Baden. The hyphen you've been using was enough for me, although didn't you also make it italized...

    Falling Dire Bear

*shrugs* Didn't mean to get ya all snippy, I just found it a really funny post. Wasn't disparaging your actual physics knowledge. Hard to get humor across on e-boards without people getting offended. Tellerve

    Falling Dire Bear

I dunno, I can't remember the real-world physics definition of animal expansion. Hmm, let me check my physics book, that constant is surely in there. I'm sorry, that was just too laugh out loud funny. Put real world physics into changing from a bat to a bear, LOL, still cracks me up. Really...

[MHB] +6 on all attributes for 200,000 ?

Where and what is this affinity stuff? Is it in some suppliment that I don't have and don't feel like getting? Tellerve

New Bullet Points (11/4): Skills and Feats

I don't get the part about the firewall at DC 18. I think it was the purchase DC but what then would be the DC for getting through? I couldn't be the same dc as the purchase 'cause in the beginning of the question he says computers have a dc20 minimum. Confused a bit, Tellerve

    Cornershot Rifle

but it is a pistol, not a lot of recoil. Not sure the calibur but what 9mm, 10? *shrugs* The 9mm I fired seemed pretty tame recoil wise. I think aiming it accurately would be more troublesome. Certainly a interesting gun, but just kinda odd. Reminds me of the rifles made in ww1 for firing...

    Vow of Poverty and Spellbooks

Is it blank? If so then ~15gp (page 128 3.5phb), otherwise it would depend on how many of what spells are in it. And also if it happened to be masterwork or jeweled. etc. etc. *shrugs* Tellerve

    ? Book of Exalted Deeds

true, and there is a post about whether or not that would work. I'm kinda of the opinion it wouldn't as you take possession of the magical article in order to destroy it, which would be, IMO, a no no. But then again, people will always find annoying munchkinizations of stuff. For those that...

    ? Book of Exalted Deeds

Sweet, thanks for noting that point Ysgarran. I don't actually have the book, so I remembered the section on "good" poisons, called regants or something sorta like that. I would need to look at the vow of non-violence again to make sure that the wording was correct but you did put a big push...

    ? Book of Exalted Deeds

So if someone in your campaign was a ascetic human monk you'd make sure he got "treasure" at all the times he gets bonus exalted feats? Or would you just deny him that? I understand not anyone can get exalted feats, and certainly the campaign has to have a different tilt to it, or at least...

    Vow of Poverty and Spellbooks

Yeah, I think a wizard is certainly one that won't fit well with the Vow of Poverty. Because of their spellbook and the need to fill it up with new spells at a substantial cost they'd be violating that vow a good amount. So as Wycen said, go sorcerer and get Eschew Materials, assuming your DM...
