Why is Firestorm the best 19th level control spell?

I think the designers intended for Blood pulse to work so that it wasn't how many squares on the battlemat a large or larger creature left in terms of its overall space, but actual movement. An ogre doesn't have some crazy movement rating to it can move its 2x2 butt 16 squares or whatever...

    Vorpal Uber Weapons?!?

PHB p219 "Damage: The weapon's damage die... If the weapon's damage die is an expression of multiple dice, roll that number of dice the indicated number of times. For example, a falchion (which has a damage die of 2d4) deals 8d4 damage when used with a power that deals 4[W] on a hit." So...

    # of Daily and Utility Powers per day

Just so I'm crystal... :) If you have a 5th level fighter, he has two dailies he can use. A 5th wizard would have 2 dailies as well, but he could pick those two from 4 different ones in his spellbook. (Or 6 if he had Expanded Spellbook). Correct?

Are ELADRIN attribute bonuses the MOST USELESS?

Throw in javelins instead, or just with the longbow. If you have the Eladrin soldier feat you'd be getting +2 damage with them. Granted a longbow has more range and a higher die of damage.

    # of Daily and Utility Powers per day

I see on the table on page 29 how many powers are known for your level, however, what I'm not seeing is if you can know both a Daily and a Utility power per day. I think yes, but I haven't found and read it yet. Also, wizards are the exception in that they get to pick two daily and utility...

Response to recent article by James Wyatt on DMG

I can't find where that is stated. I see that shields have a shield bonus and armor and armor bonus and normally they stack. Why wouldn't enchanted versions stack? Tellerve

    Sleep + Coup De Grace

Hmm, well I'd be worried about someone using what you just cited and saying they want to attempt the perception check at -5, figuring on hearing a battlefield level of noise DC 0, would make it a good bit easier than just the saving throw. I agree that the old sleep you'd wake up from damage or...

    Sleep + Coup De Grace

Just so you know, I asked earlier about the Sleep spell and I think you wouldn't need two saves to fall unconsious. At the first opportunity to make a save for your guy (the enemy) if he fails his save he'll fall unconsious. He's already slowed, however. And to answer your question, I also...

Ghouls and other effects of first hit ?

So if a ghoul hits you are you immediately immobilized, or do you get a save right then at the point of attack? Or do you have to wait till your done with your first immobilized turn to see if you can make your saving throw? Tellerve

Sleep and sorta a 4th ed ? in general

I don't think I'm buffing it to have it be two different saves. That appears to be how it is written to be in the phb. How have you been playing it? I can certainly see it being powerful though, don't get me wrong, just gotta get used to the 55% chance of people avoiding unconsciousness or...

Sleep and sorta a 4th ed ? in general

huh, makes sleep not as neat as I thought. I think I'd certainly keep the slow and sleep as seperate saves to make it a bit more viable. EDIT: Just found the part in the phb, oddly enough under saving throws *sigh*, that it mentions after effects, and doesn't explicitly state sleep in its...

Sleep and sorta a 4th ed ? in general

Just making sure I understand how the new system works. In the sleep spell if you hit it says you slow the creature (save ends), and if the creature fails the first saving throw then the creature is unconsious (save ends). So, if you cast this and hit, what is the saving throw? And if the...

"Second Son of a Second Son" - Bleys' Journal

I'm certainly liking this as I feel I get to better understand where Bleys is coming from. Lately Telie seems to be taking a majority of the stage, as is to be expected with a personality like his. Look forward to the journal entry after the Sepia Snake Sigil :) Tellerve

Eberron, Dhakanni Worg Rider PrC ?

I've been working on a PrC for my campaign. It is a tweak of the Halfling Outrider (CW) and the Wild Plains Outrider (CA). The class is going to be called the Dhakanni Worg Riders, and I have been debating the possibility of having the class be able to ride a worg. Obviously goblins riding...

    Defensive character ideas anyone?

Your right about 3.0 Oriental Adventures having some good feats for monks, grappling block comes to my mind as well. Shilsen is spot on with Elusive Target. I'd ask your DM about maybe having an Improved Defensive Throw that allows anyone attacking you and missing in melee. Maybe he'll go for...

    Spring attack

If you were a normal person that didn't have flight and had it through some spell that gave you perfect manuverability then I'd allow you to use your Spring Attack. I'd have to think about anything lower on the manuverability scale. Otherwise, Crothian is right about there already being the...
