Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

eh, there are other OSes too, the barrier to entry is higher, but then the market is a lot bigger too If you really wanted to, you could create your own OS, see Torvalds. It won’t unseat Windows, but your TTRPG will not dethrone D&D either

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

I assume like DL, some pages on the setting and mostly an adventure, not sure they will repeat the three-book approach turns out Elturel did not fall into hell but onto DS

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

I was responding to the part I quoted, which was “Software has to be designed with the operating system in mind. For games it's their choice.” At that time I asked for clarification because much like game designers have a choice what to work on, software developers do too, so I was not seeing...

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

he is the original sorcerer and most powerful being in Dark Sun. The SK were his chosen warlords, tasked with eradicating all races but the halflings (Rajaat’s race). At the time they did not know his end goal and happily did his bidding in exchange for the power he gave them. Once they had...

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

yes, a better option, the SK help Borys to keep Rajaat imprisoned. Rajaat being free is the worse option. Killing the SKs will result in that, that the ‘heroes’ do not know that and their actions endanger the whole world does not change that. Informed people would side with the SK and not try...

D&D 5E (2024) When are we getting announcements for 2026 books?

that is not even the theme, that is just ‘there are no gods’ without the ‘and this is why things are so terrible’ part

it makes them the better option, as I said initially, it undermines the message

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

if you have the option to ‘save’ the world at the cost of a few thousand lives a year or certain destruction, I’d say you kinda have to go with option 1. Could the SK be nicer, sure, but ultimately they are saving the world from something worse

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

I am aware, I still would get rid of him and his reason for existing. Once it becomes clear that the sorcerer-kings sacrificing their men to the dragon serves the purpose of keeping Rajaat imprisoned, they become kinda the good guys in this

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

personally I would get rid of the dragon and Rajaat, and just have the sorcerer-kings vying for supremacy / ascension. To me the dragon / Rajaat angle always undermined the message of the sorcerer-kings being the bad guys

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

nah, they did not shift at all, but maybe you misunderstood my point agreed, that is why I called it platform independent no one says it has to be a one person job, much like most apps aren't one developer either. Heck, many commercial TTRPG products aren't either never said there was, I said...

does WotC pay them or is that just baseless speculation? I think what it might be missing is the same level of interest in the viewers, not sure if CR knows that or is just not willing to risk it

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

technically the OS is also software and yes, you could write an app that goes straight to the machine level without an OS in between, there just is no need for that any more, everyone has an OS these days Apart from that it doesn't change the point. The software developer can still decide to...

I get where you are coming from, but it's a game, not a college class. I'd rather have a game that is fun and raises awareness than one that hammers the message home that no one is playing. The former accomplishes something at least, the latter not so much

by the seller / shop, so that will very much depend on the website and is very different from how tariffs work. As @UngainlyTitan said, it might make VPNs very popular in the US however
