Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

they can, but if they are going to create a setting with similar themes, they are going to use the familiar name, not a new one so, let them have a shot at a new DS setting for 5e then?

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

it’s a TV show with millions (?) of viewers that happens to prominently feature a D&D game, not some table with a handful of players somewhere in a basement

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

if they can do it for D&D, what stops them from doing it for DH? The premise what that DH is not ready for this kind of sweeping show yet while 2024 is (“Yah, it would be a heavy lift for a new game as light on material as it is.”). If they have to create a lot of stuff either way, then that...

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

we did get Radiant Citadel. Did it sell? no idea, but you cannot say that WotC does not try new things. Also, given how many complaints there are about how the setting by the same name is so drastically different, you cannot even say that they always just recycle the same stuff. They just reuse...

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

it is a custom setting, so there is not much D&D material that would help either. Given that they are going with D&D 2024, they do have a similarly limited set of options when it comes to races and classes imo

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

what is it missing, or are you looking at this from the perspective of attracting a big enough audience?

Critical Role to Use D&D 2024 Rules For Campaign Four, Expands to Three Tables and Thirteen Players

interesting, I thought they would switch to Daggerheart, both to give it a boost and because they said they created it for their style of play.

D&D 5E (2024) When are we getting announcements for 2026 books?

no one is arguing that there are gods in DS... you are the only one arguing that the absence of gods is what makes DS a hellscape and that this is its central theme. These are two separate topics This is what they say around the 2:10 mark. "So how does one describe Dark Sun, well, it's pretty...

D&D 5E (2024) When are we getting announcements for 2026 books?

US Tariffs: $80-$200 Surcharge On All Packages Regardless of Price

oh, yes, but then you get the 15% or whatever tariff, not the flat $80 for a single book / packet. I was thinking about the latter given the topic. Wonder if companies are reconsidering that approach and move the distribution for the Americas to Canada and leave the US to service the US only...
