sure it does, complete failure, fail with hope, succeed with fear, full success, or whatever it calls them
4 levels, not 2 like D&D. DS in turn has 3, but is more descriptive about them, not narrative
rolling 2 dice gives you a curve where the extremes are not as likely, like DH. Depending on your roll it is not just success or failure (like D&D) but varying degrees (like DH)
Not sure DS is crunchier than 5e, I expect it to be more tactical though
sure, I just consider the similarity to 4e...
From what little I have seen, It's a crunchier and more tactical Daggerheart. You roll 2d10 (+ ability) and your result falls into one of three categories, depending on how well you rolled (<= 11, 12 - 16, >= 17)
the magnitude, sure, but how many D&D computer games are there in any given month? It’s not like they were so busy doing stuff for all the others… it was clear for a long time that BG3 would be the biggest D&D computer game of the year, even if that would have meant 5M copies sold rather than 50...
I could, but I would still pay for them. I am not ruling that out, but the less content of a book I actually am interested in, the less likely it is that I will get it. Will have to wait and see...
that is the last thing I am looking for, 2024 already went too far for me, I might have been interested in an updated and expanded FR setting (compared to SCAG), but this is a clear warning sign for me
Not sure how you came to that conclusion… If the people were in favor of gambling, I doubt they would object to D&D themed gambling. You kinda have to start opposed to it to complain about D&D joining in.
the data being taken every 15 minutes and then averaged should cover that.
The only thing missing is a longer timeframe to see the actual development better
that was not a sustained bump, that was people looking at their new PHB / DMG. If outside of looking at that (for a week or so) there is no uptick in D&D for months to several years but instead we see a continuing decline, then there was no bump - unless for you the short term of a week or two...
nothing definitive, we will need a longer timeframe for that
not sure anyone said it was falling, only that this is not trending in the right direction for WotC
looks like it did not even do that though
it was in the context of DDB and how many users that now has, so I assume it was D&D Beyond sales. Maybe all direct sales, including print, through their website
sounds like it, but how often do you get to claim free stuff etc.... All things being equal, less engagement is less engagement. It's not a spike in subscribers that is hidden by a drop off from people staring at their free LMoP for the last 18 months and are finally tired of looking at it...
