    D&D General Art in D&D

Joe Jusko used to do a lot of great Conan work that was full of cheesecake and beefcake. Not sure if he ever did much work for TSR though.

    AD&D 1E Dragon Reflections #27

No I'm the same. I loved Dragon, and White Dwarf, before they became house mags more. Even articles for games I didn't play were interesting as I got a glimpse into different systems.

    Roleplaying As Catharsis?

Not really. I'm not into examining the human condition via elves or anything like that. If its been a crappy week and we have a great session of D&D its a nice break from the BS but nothing beyond that. I'm more likely to have my new PC influenced by some character in a book I just read...

    Rate Joker

I quite liked it and will get it on BR when it comes out. A refreshing comic movie compared to the usual genre tripe like the last Avengers flick. Some issues here and there but I'm glad I went and saw it at the theater, which is something I rarely do anymore. I'm a Batman fan and was glad to...

    D&D General Art in D&D

My favorite artist of D&D is probably Erol Otis with his weird drawings and crazy hats. But most editions have something cool. Though I didn't like the straps, buckles, and spikes 3e aesthetic and I skipped 4e. The trifecta of Elmore, Parkinson, and Caldwell are hard to top as well. The 5e...

When another player builds a clone of your character.

It deepens on how effective that choice will make the party. Had fun parties with 3 dumb brute fighters many times. All was well.

Character progression planning, how do you do it?

I have never planned out a PC. I go "well these stats are screaming Fighter to me..." and do the rest as it comes along. Part of what I hated about 3.x was the need to plan to meet a PrC or other stuff.

Do you like Warhammer FRP 4th edition?

As much praise as TEW gets reading the later parts of it, its incredibly railroady and the core of Power behind the Throne is IMO a bit lame. I wonder how much the new version changes that, if at all?

D&D General The limiting drawback of character customization

Honestly that is part of why I moved back to a different system with no specialization rules for my "D&D" campaign. Always bummed me out a bit when they would get a powerful spear with a cool backstory but because they were quadruple specialized in bastard sword it was like "spear...how much...

Do you like Warhammer FRP 4th edition?

That campaign idea is on hold, but after finding some more copies of the books I think I'm just going to run it, if we ever do, in 1e. Good thing is none of my players are even remotely into Games Workshop or the Warhammer world. Nobody plays wargames other than me so it would be fresh...

Otherworld makes models for orc and kobald tribes, women and children.

TSR Jim Ward: Demons & Devils, NOT!

    I loved Chock 1e.

TSR Jim Ward: Demons & Devils, NOT!

Sure. We just went the opposite direction. We kept playing 1e and used the 2e stuff that was cool in that. Wasn't about purity, just didn't find a compelling reason for the rest of the group to buy 2e core books, though the changes in tone we didn't care for didn't help.
  16. Flexor the Mighty!

TSR Jim Ward: Demons & Devils, NOT!

Sure. But the tanarri and baatezu were not in 2e until 1991. So at the time it came out I was like "where are my demons and devils?" By the time they came back out in the supplement I had already dropped 2e. But that wasn't the reason really. It just didn't offer enough over 1e to switch...

TSR Jim Ward: Demons & Devils, NOT!

Yeah, and by the time they put out a proper Monster book, not the 3 ring binder, they had them back in. But at launch we were told that ramped up dragons and giants were a great replacement. And your half-orc fighter assassin? Time to ditch that loser and make up a proper good hero!

TSR Jim Ward: Demons & Devils, NOT!

Well it took a few years to get them back in the game after the release of 2e.
