John Wick 3- Should You See It?

    that is a terrible list.

He looks like a large chunk of gamers I've come across.

Players 'distressed' by gang-rape role-playing game

So you are saying this may not be the clear cut case that the BBC presented it as? shocking!

RPGA, Pathfinder Society and Adventurer's League - why are they all so terrible?

I don't Con much anymore but I've always preferred tourney style con gaming with Pre-gens to living games. Gives me a chance to play a strange PC, often one I don't normally play. The two tourney games at GaryCon were like that and a lot of fun, though we didn't advance in either. :(

John Wick 3- Should You See It?

I have to say that I loved John Wick 3, I've only seen a few flicks this year at the movies but it was the best of the year so far. Much better than Avengers. So much better action than in most of the movies where you have all the jarring cuts that makes it so you can't really see what is...

Players 'distressed' by gang-rape role-playing game

The only con I've been to in a long time was GaryCon this year and there were definitely games that were listed as mature 18+ to play and stuff in the event listing about the game having adult content. Is GC unusual in that regard then? Though I do remember seeing a Battletech game as listed...

Players 'distressed' by gang-rape role-playing game

Reading threads like this just make me thankful that despite some real play style and focus issues with members of my long term group, I don't have any need to RPG with randoms at stores. At least all our degeneracy matches up. Who the hell would think an on screen rapey con game was good...

Massive $750 10-Book "The Enemy Within Collector’s Edition" From Cubicle 7

I thought about buying it, the 4e book, but I'm not sure what it would do better than 2e if I ever decide to run a WH campaign.

    Uneasy Partnerships

I have a few local games shops but I'm not into RPG with randoms but my wargaming group does meet at one. Game Nite in STL is a good store. A lot of product for RPG, mini gaming, and board games! We play 28mm WW2 for the most part, Bolt Action and Chain of Command. However I don't think...

Massive $750 10-Book "The Enemy Within Collector’s Edition" From Cubicle 7

Id love to run this but I honestly don't have the group for it.

What is the worst "I don't know how my own abilities work" you've encountered in a game?

That reminds of my clueless player and how the other guys would make up a "hot sheet" for him with all his stuff, which in the end was just as confusing to him as the character sheet.

What is the worst "I don't know how my own abilities work" you've encountered in a game?

One of my players often forgets how to roll initiative, or what dice to use for pretty much any of this attacks. Between rounds his brain resets itself and he forgets basic game mechanics. I'd boot him, for that and other reasons, but his two brothers play too and it would start a real mess...

    Avengers: Endgame SPOILER THREAD

That was the equivalent of an old team up book event series with too many characters, poor writing, but very nice art. About 2 hours in I was thinking "I'm about ready to go..." And making Thor the comic relief wasn't my cup of tea. Haven't really enjoyed the last few Marvel flicks I've seen...

Larry Elmore Creates Art For Grimmerspace

Met him at Gary Con and I won't lie it was an incredible experience. He was talking about how they were so into the work they were doing on D&D and the like since they were fans of the game and played.

Anyone else finding their TTRPG spending going down for lack of interest/need?

There is a limit on tickets, so its already capped. Its nearly max capacity for the venue based on what I saw this year. A lot of fun, and I have a room for next year but I'm not sure I'll be going. its a lot of money when its all said and done and that could go to another good trip.

How to deal with death in RPG?

Sure, but for the most part I run my games like it still 1979. Granted RA kicks it up a notch but we play adversarial high mortality rate campaigns.

What's your opinion on "Save or Die" effects?

Save or Death and I go way back. We are tight and nothing will change that. I like that a 1HD monster in my game can kill a 15th level fighter with a single failed save. Poison is feared greatly in the current game.

How much do you care about "balanced" dice?

I roll in the open so I can watch the looks of horror and dismay on the players faces when I really hammer them with a crit or huge damage roll. When roll and I hear "Oh ****!" my heart fills with joy.
