Sneak Peek At Ghosts of Saltmarsh Maps

One artsy and more purely functional would be great.

Sneak Peek At Ghosts of Saltmarsh Maps

I find the black and white location maps, nice and clean without art textures under and all that jazz, to be far more useful in play myself. Or blue maps. For a dungeon map I don't need a lot of art on it that just clutters it, makes it harder to make notes, and add little to the game...

    Too weird for town....

Depends on the settlement. There are no half orcs in my current game but in other games it would depend and you could expect to pay more unless you made friends with people. If your 1/2O goes to a dwarven settlement...well that may be interesting. If you are trying to drag a undead or some...

Stirges have cemented themselves as my favorite D&D monsters at this point...

Hit them with that last session too! They found a pit trap with a dessicated hobbit down in it. So they take the karate man, as he calls himself, and after tying him off lower him down to get the belt off the body. Well he can't get it lose without touching the body so he gets annoyed and...

I can't take credit for the dungeon, other than making the gas explosive. That was in Rappan Athuck so it was probably Bill Webb. When running stirges even with miniatures I always have them flying around in between the PC kind of swarming so it does make them a bit harder to hit without...

Critical Role Do you Critical Role?

No, no desire to watch people play video or tabletop games. I barely watch pro sports anymore.

In that regard I was so angry that I didn't have a straw sucking sound effect ready to go, that will not happen again.

Do orcs in gaming display parallels to colonialist propaganda?

You have to realize that to a large portion of the modern left anyone to the right of Karl Marx is a Nazi. Just look at social media when even mainstream Jewish conservatives are labeled as nazis. but at least now the thread got to the only place it could ever had ended up.

Just so many amazing memories of stirge fights. Mostly related to other party members trying to hack them off others. Again last night they have a classic in my S&W game. So they come across a chamber that is a trap. When three of them enter the floor begins to fall 10' per round and as a...

Do orcs in gaming display parallels to colonialist propaganda?

I was kind of joking there. though if you were taking it out to the logical extreme killing orclings before they can become full sized evil pig nosed brutes you are really just making your job easier on yourself so it should be full XP.

Do orcs in gaming display parallels to colonialist propaganda?

It more I don't care if the someone online has an issue as at our table orcs are just evil orcs. Having 1-2 HD demons swarming around the Prime material plane with the same frequency doesn't work with the fiction of the setting. And honestly until this thread I had never had anyone say to me...

    Why the hate for complexity?

Part of me would love to run a Hackmaster 5e game. But I know my group would collapse under its complexity. We will see how Mutant Crawl Classics goes when I get a chance.

Do orcs in gaming display parallels to colonialist propaganda?

You are very welcome! My players and I enjoy it and honestly nobody has ever mentioned how using elements of real world cultures, aka the concepts of shaman/witch doctors in primitive societies, is making them into a racist statement on any real world culture. I can't say I base gaming...

    Why the hate for complexity?

3.x was pretty concise in theory but in play as levels rose it became a mess of shifting mods to track. The game rapidly became a chore to run as it was really built with the idea that players were buffed to the max and loaded with gear so they usually were.

Do orcs in gaming display parallels to colonialist propaganda?

I still use pig faced orcs that are Chaotic (really LE) and made in the image of Grummish. They lack the free will that was granted to the children of gods of good for the most part. Grummish hates free will. As does Maglubiyet, and most of the other evil deities so their creations are stunted...
