It's the post count. Doug and Hal are intimidated by your mighty 8,000+ post army. ;)

    ARGH!!! A million e-mails from thread-subscriptions! Suggestion/Question inside.

Thanks, Darkness, I'll try that! BTW: If it helps anymore, I use both Outlook Express and Netscape for mail. (I know, it's strange to have both, but I'm trying to decide which to use from now on.)

That sounds great, thanks for the tip! But while you're here, could you give me a hand in setting that up without creating an entirely new e-mail account just for here? Thanks, if so. :)

Heh... I always have that "freak exception of the norm". Honestly, I've received well over 50+ e-mails today about various threads I've been a part of. Hell, maybe a lot more than that, I've just been deleting as fast as possible.

Funny Email From a Publisher re. Reviews

Actually Jason, Steve and I were just talking about that. "Simon Collins", "SC", "Steve Creech" -- see a pattern? And the last sentence in Steve's review are *kinda* like what AP suggested, but *BADLY* butchered. Steve gave a wonderful review and his words were far from out of place. If AP...

Funny Email From a Publisher re. Reviews

I see your point, Jason, but AP cannot be honestly shocked by the throngs of people upset by this stance. They knew before they ever printed their first d20 cover what would happen and they chose to do it anyway. So basically, right or wrong, they have no room to be alarmed at the general public...

Alan, here is a GIF of it (your first post asked for GIF): Just right-click and choose "save target as" over the logo.

Funny Email From a Publisher re. Reviews

Exactly. As I said in my other thread about this, if an apology was to be given, it would probably be just to field off the negative responses by this being brought to the public's attention. Just because the original e-mail wasn't intended for EN World (which I have problems accepting fully)...

    ARGH!!! A million e-mails from thread-subscriptions! Suggestion/Question inside.

Well, I recently checked the box that allows me to be e-mailed whenever a thread I've participated in has been updated, and while the option itself is quite handy, it *does* fill an Inbox pretty darn quick with those popular threads. I'm a member at another vBB and they have the same option...

Funny Email From a Publisher re. Reviews

Sorry for the re-post, but I think my original post in my poll thread got buried in an onslaught of other posts. ----- Well, while I'm glad that an official apology was given to Simon Collins and the rest of EN World, I'm still kinda miffed. 1. How can anyone in the industry confuse EN World...

No, they're both far from dying. :)

Actually Eric, for me, the discussion would be far from over, as I question the validity of that e-mail and even found additional problems within it. (See my post after Morrus'.)

Well, while I'm glad that an official apology was given to Simon Collins and the rest of EN World, I'm still kinda miffed. 1. How can anyone in the industry confuse EN World for any other site? 2. If this was indeed a hastily-made e-mail intended for another reviews site, so what? The only...

Well, to use the same amount of sarcasm that you displayed above... Let me offer my apology for not also quoting your words from an earlier post here (and I'll be nice and use pretty bold text as well: That post, combined with the post that I *did* quote before, hint that you presume to know...

Even if they made a public apology, I still wouldn't purchase their products anymore, simply because it would be a forced apology to try and stop the outpouring of dislike that their first decision generated. They made a decision, in the majority of our eyes (as the results of the poll...

"Two companies" do not an industry norm make. Don't generalize that you know what the majority of an industry does in regards to unfavorable reviews just because you know of a few exceptions.

*IF* AP truly feels that the reviews here are unfair for the wrong reasons, they should have stated such in their e-mail. Let me check... Nope, I don't see anything in there about the EN World staff giving unfair reviews -- just unfavorable reviews. Which is quite lame. And even if they did...
