I usually use a DM screen, and even though I already own the screens that came in Murder in Baldur's Gate and Legacy of the Crystal Shard I too am anxiously waiting for the new WotC screen. I think it will be (for me) the most useful screen since 1E.

This is not the DM screen that Chris Perkins had at GameHoleCon. The WotC screen had Conditions, Skill-check DCs, random NPC Name Generation, NPC Traits and FLaws and such, and a few other tables to help a DM wing it. The WotC screen is supposed to release in early January.

Actually, I would house-rule that any INT save was also at disadvantage

No, that would be for a STR or DEX save.

However, I would rule that if you cut off the head, split the skull open, scooped out the brains, replaced them with water, then cast destroy water, that might kill your victim. But I would allow a CON save.

I have long used "hack silver" in my campaign. Cuts down on need for pockets.

Perhaps I'll bring back training to make level, like in 1E. That always used up the excess cash, plus explained how you learned the new stuff.

I notice the cards are organized by level, then alphabetically. It is handy that the card backs for each class are different. edit: I deleted my comment about no notation for rituals. They are marked for rituals.

Our distributors don't have them yet, but our direct order finally came in. We now have the Arcane, Bard, Cleric, Druid, Paladin, and Ranger Spellbook Cards. Can't wait to check out the cards.

Page 60 gives some new rules for scrolls. If the scroll spell is not on your class spell list, the scroll list. There are Cantrip scrolls Wizards can copy scroll spells into their spellbooks Therefore, it seems wizards might be able to learn new cantrips from scrolls.

New DMs don't stay novices. Many may need this info if their campaigns get up to higher levels. And even if they don't, it's exciting to see some of the possibilities.

So the new TOC includes a 6-page Appendix C: Maps. Making maps? Sample maps? How to read them?
