    D&D 5E (2014) Noticing a magic item

I reason that if the shoes are obviously magical, you are likely to get jumped for your shoes. If you are well armed, you could still become a possible burglary target. But then, I do believe the characters have lives when they aren't adventuring. Even when we don't spend much game time on it...

What Do Treants, Gelatinous Cubes, Mimics, and Displacer Beasts Have In Common?

Yes, the cube comes apart. Look at the underside, 2 opposite corners have an indentation. Grab the base there. As an aside, I love that the treant has 4 arms. Why should a treant be limited to just 2 limbs?

    D&D 5E (2014) DMG Errata — in which printing?

I first got them in mid December.

    D&D 5E (2014) DMG Errata — in which printing?

I double-checked, and if the book doesn't say anything about the corrections then they arent there.

    D&D 5E (2014) Starting level

0 level. The characters are not adventurers by choice, but rather cicumstances have made it a necessity. I have done this since 2E.

    D&D 5E (2014) DMG Errata — in which printing?

Strangely enough, I also found a DMG 3rd imprint that does not have the corrections notice.?!?!

    D&D 5E (2014) DMG Errata — in which printing?

I just checked our stock. The DMG 3rd imprint does have the notice about the corrections. At the moment I have no second imprints to check.

D&D 5E (2014) alternate coinage, ie "non decimal gold"

In the US, we even have "gold" colored dollar coins, though almost nobody uses them (In fact many people almost never use any currency, using credit/debit cards or Apple-pay all the way.)

    D&D 5E (2014) Converting 3.xE adventures to 5E

Also, watch the treasure. Magical treasure is not normally as common in 5E, and +2 or higher (weapons or armor) would be much less common.

To be a Copper subscriber, click on settings tab (upper left corner). Then scroll down the left side of the page. Under the heading "My Settings" see third section "My Account" and click the line "Paid Subscriptions." Copper costs $3/month, Silver $5.99, and Gold $8.99 edit: Oh, and I believe...

How do I get a signature?

One of the perks for being a Copper level supporter of EN World is you can have up to 10 lines in your signature.

D&D 5E (2014) What would you put in monster manual 2?

Bahamut, though probably belongs in a Deities & Demigods/Legends & Lore volume. Wizards allowed the release of the miniature more than a year ago, let us have the write-up and stats!

    D&D 5E (2014) Magic item attunement, like-dislike?

I like attainment limits. In my campaign, even more items require attunement, but most items requiring attunement can give some benefits without being attuned. Also, more items have prerequisites, including class, race, and/or level.

D&D 5E (2014) House Rules that Span Editions

Roll to confirm critical hits. Roll to confirm fumbles (when used) Also, open-ended crits. [On a natural 20 (or whatever the crit range) crit must be confirmed by a second roll. If second roll is a hit, crit is confirmed. If second roll is also a crit, roll again to confirm. Repeat as necessary...

    D&D 5E (2014) Running an escape adventure

Have a reason the "heroes" are running away, such as being charged with getting someone or something to safety, or getting the warning to the king. The heroes of the story don't feel too heroic just fleeing for their lives when they are abandoning others to die (unless the guilt and shame are...

    D&D 5E (2014) Caster feats

Magic Initiate is nice. You get 2 more cantrips, and an additional 1st level spell (which can't scale. For this I like Mage Armor). Resilient is good. I'd take Constitution, helpful for Concentration checks.

    D&D 5E (2014) Release date for GF9 5e spell cards?

According to Alliance Retail Resources page, they are out of the ranger cards at their Maryland warehouse, but they are in stock in their other 3 warehouses, though they don't give a clue as to the quantities.

    D&D 5E (2014) Why 19 not 20?

Actually, the odd numbers in strength DO make a difference. The actual score, not the bonus, determines your encumbrance limits. Also how far you can jump.
