    Build me a KNIGHT!

There isn't much to building one, it's esencially a fighter with all your extra feats pre-selected for you. The two PHII shield feats make a nice synergy with the knights extra shield bonuses. After that power attack and improved toughness. I am playing one and put a 10 in charisma. By 6th...

    30' apart

I think that they are 30' apart and therefore all affected. But if I'm not the DM I'd live with the rules of the game 'rule'.

    Duskblades, channeled spells, and criticals

I thought there was a similar question a long time ago, about a monk unarmed damage and shocking grasp. The monk got to choose, a touch attack vs touch AC and double shocking grasp. Or an unarrmed strike, doubling unnarmed strike damage on a crit then adding the shocking grasp. Good to know...

Lesser Metemagic Rod of Chain Spell

I really like the idea of chaining the buffing spells, you can buff the whole party with a 2nd or 3rd level spell. Better yet with 2nd or 3rd spell known for the favored soul and she's an NPC Buffing machine. Dispell magic and tasha's are also great ideas I wouldnt have thought of. Thanks for...

Lesser Metemagic Rod of Chain Spell

Our party approaching 10th level came across a rod of lesser chaining. I don't see a lot of great uses, and actually seems to have been forgotten about by whoever has it. The chaining feat has a lot of restrictions IIRC which rule out a lot of spells. We have a Favored soul with reach spell...

Flesh to Stone a plant creature?

It might turn your fruit to stone :p , but I'd say no. Plants, elementalns, and undead would all be immune to the spell.

What Items Can a PC Purchase?

The latest campaing I ran was run into a TPK before they had more than that to spend. So I never worked out the details. What I was going to do is use some kind of check balanced vs a DC based on the value of the item. This would represent a week of searching. In a small village you probably...

    starlight

In buildings, structures, or ships... you would use plains or whatever the largest encounter distance is. More common is you make a spot check as soon as line of site is made (ie. you come over the top of the deck). More likely the deck would have something on it, rigging, masts, storage...

is this a "legal" use for enlarge spell?

Edit: Nevermind misread the qustion at first. No. I'd stick with the rule of thumb that if a spell doesn't say it does damage, it doesn't do damage. If you do allow it, then you have to decide what the damage is, does it scale, is there a cap, can it impose a condition like dismembered, can...

    Wildshape, hd forms

HD does matter as the advanced monsters have larger sizes, and the stat increases. Two cases where the difference is significant is wolves and wyverns.

    Can a Phantom Steed run?

I agree that it can run, and run all day without fatigue. What I wonder is if it has the run feat. I'm going to guess not, but my opinion has changed on this point a few times.

    starlight

How far a human can see is infinite (see that star?) unless it's reduced (by star dust) to total concealment. So claiming an elf can see twice as far is absurd. I suspect they meant for it to apply to encounter distance. These values still exist in 3.5 in terrain section of dmg (or SRD)...

    Cover/Concealment

The situation described is a textbook example of Low Obstacles and Cover. When I DM I extrapolate that rule to apply to horizontal situations also. A archer behind a 2' diameter tree wouldn't suffer penalties firing at somone 25' away. It's not explicitly written that way, but it's not a...

    "Save My Game" oversight?

I think the swarm template is from Worlds Largest Dungeon. I could be confusing it with mob though.

    Damage while spiderclimbing.

Really? Normally you can't take 10 on anything in combat, except for skill expertise (level 10 rogue and skill master prc). I agree with yes to both questions part.

    The Bane of the Inevitable

Cheating death is predominatly the domain of the evil. The good or even Neutral exceptions are few and far between. The sword however could be one of these exceptions. Depending on DM's views. I would say it would have to be pretty powerful (epic/artifact) in spite of the pricing guidelines...

Delivering touch attack spells with a melee attack

With no feats required you can deliver touch attack spells as an unarmed attack dealing punching damage (or monk damage). Remember, if you miss the normal AC then you don't get to discharge the touch spell even if you would have hit the touch AC. I don't recall where I saw this (possibly CArc)...

Clever Use of Prying Eyes Spell (Read a library?)

The only thing I would add would be some kind of 'perfect memory'. There was a psionic power to that effect in 2e, I don't know if there is anything available to a 3.5 wizard though. It shouldn't be hard to make one up, or worst cast use Wish. Even then, as mentioned above. This doesn't give...

    WotC has an online demo

3.5 person! That was laugh out loud at work funny. I suppose the WOTC people have to keep it clear, as in Crystal Clear, that you are role playing and there is an explicit difference between you and your caracter. A friend of mine had a White Wolf book (vampire or mage?) that had a catchy...

    Dragon Mount feat?

There is also the Leadership feat. I can't recall if the DMG lists dragons specifically, but it would allow for a Dragon companion.
