FOD miniatures (Updated April 8 - Kenku Sneak)

Been out with the flu for the better part of the week, thus I haven't been taking many photos (They get blurry when you hack and cough all the time). I managed to eek out a couple pictures of a Kenku NPC (Repainted Aberrations mini). One of which I'll post here: Skulking on land

FOD miniatures (Updated April 8 - Kenku Sneak)

A quick update before I head to work. I forgot to post this with the original batch. A Rackham 'Wolfen'. I love the pose of these figures.

FOD miniatures (Updated April 8 - Kenku Sneak)

Thanks! :) I'm actually just now getting into doing up terrain after a very long haitus (read: lazyness). I might take some more detailed terrain photos and provide some tips of what I did, but in general I tend to use a lot of Woodland Scenics for flocking. They have the advantage of being...

FOD miniatures (Updated April 8 - Kenku Sneak)

I'll have a few more pictures after Friday's game (Which I should be prepping for right now. I'm a bad DM). The model/maker from left to right are: Laurana from the old Ral-Partha Dragonlance line, Wood Elf Archer from an old Games Workshop line, and a Skaven from the plastic Skaven Army box...

FOD miniatures (Updated April 8 - Kenku Sneak)

Thanks! Actually my setup for photos is pretty simple: Natural light. I took a couple pictures as a test when I first got the camera, and found that I already had a pretty ideal (if small) setup. I have a large window off to the left that has blinds on it, and the board is about 10 inches...

FOD miniatures (Updated April 8 - Kenku Sneak)

Thanks for the kind replies! I'll be posting more as I get used to the new camera and perhaps come up with a few more scenery bits finished as well. I'll also post using thumbnails as well after this update. I'll have to upload smaller versions to my website first though. However, here is a...

    Need Dungeon Flocking

Well, I've loved what worldworks has been putting out lately. You have to print and construct the items yourself, but they look fantastic when fully assembled. You can find worldworks at: http://www.worldworksgames.com/

A more detailed image of the Gnoll half-fiend priestess (Chainmail miniature)

FOD miniatures (Updated April 8 - Kenku Sneak)

An image of skeletons advancing on a elfin sun cleric. Skeletons like fire!

FOD miniatures (Updated April 8 - Kenku Sneak)

I finally was able to find a digital camera that could take decen images of miniatures, and thought I'd post a few here to see what folks thought. The first will be a series featuring an elf cleric of the sun (Chainmail Elf miniature), against undead (GW Skeletons), and a half-fiendish gnoll...

    Deathknell Gallery up

So far this is a middle of the road set to me. Some figures are excellent, like the Beholder or even the Centaur hero. Some of the commons are well done such as the Kenku Sneak, or the Dire badger. But the scaling seems to be all over the bloody place again, just as it was with Harbinger and...

D&D possible cause in Murder case again.

Games of any sort are never responsible for murder. Peoples varied insanities and insecurities are responsible for murder. What I don't understand is why they aren't investigating shows like Iron Chef: America, or the Culinary institutes since they too include many knives and much cutting...

    WotC D&D Fonts

Actually I think the non-header font used for the text in the books is 'Celestial Antiqua'. The fonts used for numbers is 'Celestial Antiqua SC' which is an all capitals font (Thus the font might have been slightly modified in their books, but the look is spot on).

Have you ever laughed so hard while gaming you cried?

Goblin abuse We've had several bizarre moments of maniacal fits of laughter. The most recent was when the party were heading through a dingy lower level place of a massive tower city (More or less my take on Sharn), carefully avoiding striking/rioting orc foundry workers. They came across a...

    Cut To The Chase

So far there have been a couple of chase scenes in my campaign. An earlier one had the players on a floating 'liner' style ship (Basically an airship). The ship was ambushed by a bunch of Jadwarri (Skaven) engineered raider vessels, which were small, quick one man skiffs. The theif in the...

    Reorganizing my Minis

Actually if you use a gloss varnish as the first finishing coat, then spray on a matte sealer when the gloss is dry, that will protect infinitely better than just matte alone.

I'm ready for Fourth Edition now (a brief manifesto)

If this were a new edition that was being done for market, I'd say you have lost half of your audience (being conservative in my estimates) just with the first rule you posted. There are a few reasons you would lose half of gamers with the first rule. First would be that people don't like...
