    the FLGS list

Well, I'll chime in for my little corner of Canukada. Mission Fun & Games by far is the best we have locally. I used to (have) to go to Warp 1, which has since turned to utter mud. Mission is the best thing to hit the general Edmonton area since Adventurer supply.

Tell me about other (non-core) PC races in your world!

I have quite a few odd races that I've either included myself, or have allowed to be added in some of my campaigns. Most are indeed non-core: Javarran - Race of wolf people (see icon) that is something like the lupin, but a little more broad as a culture and with absolutely no ties whatsoever...

    Oh.... Canada? (E-Tools problem)

Ah! Wonderful, these were exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the replies!

    Oh.... Canada? (E-Tools problem)

I've been more and more interested in E-Tools from some things I've read on Codemonkey's website. So I finally decided I'd take the plunge, and purchase the program. ..I got all the way to the 'make payment' page and was dismayed at seeing that they take only PayPal in payment. So I have a...

    Castle Works -Oh My Word...

Their 'Maiden' is by far the most beautiful large scale ship in wargaming (at least that I have seen). The thing is a project that you'll have to devote days if not a good week to, but the end result is incredible. Of course, I built the ship and thought of a perfect encounter to have with...

    Leveling speed

For me and my group, its at the perfect balance right now. We play infrequently at best (due to work and family), so I'd rather not sit for an entire year levelling only once. But that's just in my case. I'm sure groups who meet once a week or two will find that they are levelling pretty quickly.

Who Needs The New Dragon Format

I like the new format quite a bit. It has a very clean, unified look to it, and it is extremely easy on the eyes. I'm lucky enough to still have very good vision, but it never hurts to have text and formatting that is much more flowing, than being graphically gorged on every article. As for...

fed up with mini randomness...back to counters? (teeny-tiny rant)

I have to admit, my initial enthusiasm is wearing off as well. I wasn't too twitchy about the randomized thing to start with. While I wasn't pleased I wasn't wildly against it. See, I heard that after a while, the 'mid level' critters would start to become more common (or at least, uncommon)...

We are about to lose a D&D Icon

Heartbreaking, really. This touched a nerve with me since he not only helped influence me into becoming an artist, but has gone through depressions like I'm hitting, or have hit recently myself. Especially when it comes to feeling 'nobody wants what you produce'. I hope he recieves all of the...

As a DM, which class do you wish your group played more?

While I'm able to easily adapt for the lack of characters, I chose cleric since the last one that my group actually played was in second edition. Admittedly one of my players played a cleric in 2e for what had to be 3 years of realtime campaigning, and is probably more interested in playing...

    Taurian Pen and Ink Illo.

Good to see that there are other artists in Edmonton. Very nice work!

Does anyone else think D&D 4th edition should be more like 2nd edition

I would personally rather allow large, angry gorillas to spank me around my back yard with nail-studded oars while my neighbors threw beer bottles at me in drunken revellry than go back to 2e. First of all, wouldn't it be pointless to release a new edition just to cover an edition that has...

    Monster Manual 3 art gallery

I have to admit, the art is quite a bit better than some of the previous ventures into monster manuals, however I'm disappointed in the art for the Kenku. I hate to admit it, but the only version I even remotely liked was that of the original fiend folio (By 'Russ' I believe). Still though...

    d6 the future of d20?

D6 systems aren't my thing, but I'll be neutral here for a few things: Some Pros: * Classes: I admit that I liked the free style 'no class' system that D6 offered. this pretty much meant that you could make up any hero you could imagine, and come up with different 'professions' on the fly...

Angelsboi passed away 16 Jun 04 (was: Angelsboi Health Update)

I'll add that I'm utterly devastated by this news. Like many, I knew he wasn't in the greatest of health, but had hoped he would be among us for many a year. A memory It was just before he had found out about his illness, and I recall him sending along a commission request to have a couple of...

    Abbreviated Statblocks

For my 100th post (ham and lords! I'm so behind everyone else!) I figured I would actually post and ask a question. If this sort of thing has been asked already, I apologize, but lately I've been trying to cut down on a lot of the time that it takes me to write for the campaigns I'm running...

More than one PC per player?

I honestly can't remember a time when the very small group I've had has had just one character each. Its a little tricky to find players in Edmonton it seems, they either get nabbed up by other groups, or disappear from radar, so I've had a group of 2 players (sometimes even a single player at...

Some of my PCs need to be punished...What to do?

If she's royalty, there will be hell to pay if such abuse is found out by her family, her people, or any allied nation or people. A barbarian won't last long in the wilds when Elves start hearing tales of such abuse. If this princess is still attached to her royal family, they also might have...

How long has it been in-between tabletop games?

Months.. Many.. Many months. Actually, it might have been last year now that I think about it. Due to jobs, and family mostly. It makes running a campaign a little hard since it becomes a mad scramble to have to remember what I have written when the next session comes up after so much time off.

    MS to buy Bioware?

I'm hoping this is just a rumor. I'd be heartbroken not to get any more RPG games from Bioware, as they are one of the few developers that still *make* non MMORPG games for the PC. And seeing as I'll never own an X-Box (no, not for any ranty reason, simply because it doesn't handle games I...
