    Underdark - anyone has it?

Would this book be useful in an Eberron campaign? In my case, I would like to keep Drow out of it, but I realize that could be a challenge in canon Underdark.

    Resourceful

Hahaha... I think most of the time my group and I have this for free.

    January Rules updates 2010

I think the idea is that there is a chance for redemption. Being pushed off a ledge gives you a save to well, save yourself. The ogre will make an attack roll when it drops the anvil, which will function in the same way. Give you a chance to avoid it. Sometimes your chances double up, like if...

New Lord of the Rings RPG!

I don't see this as a good idea. If its combat oriented, the hobbits should be at a big disadvantage. Casters probably wouldn't exist, and even if you allowed playing as Gandalf, Saruman or the Brown guy, what spells would you give them exactly?

Martial Power II: New Warlord Builds

Yeah, after watching the newest movie, I really want to play Sherlock Holmes; I think Dex/Int would be a perfect fit.

Hybrid D&D: Combining editions (especially 3E and 4E)

I believe the complaints are centered upon illusion attacks doing damage in 4E because some believe they should have only non-damaging effects, or at least tend strongly toward non-damaging effects, as 3E illusion spells do.

    Timezones in D&D

What about my poor Eberron campaign? I can't use Sigil or Sigil-times; it is forbidden!

    Hey, waaaaaait a minute. (Banshrae)

Actually, lacking a voice box is a pretty good explanation for me. I'm going to give credit to CS on this one.

    D&D 4E What Doesn't 4E Do Well?

I introduced someone completely new to gaming with a level 5 wizard, and she understood within minutes. Disagree with the "no starter characters" argument, anecdotally.

    Falling off the 4ed bandwagon

Why? Friendly debate normally attacks arguments and ideas, where as "bandwagon" is attacking the person (with a feather. When I read the title I noticed it, but I was cooled down the quarter-degree it raised me by the well-written OP.)

Dark Sun - Player's Guide rendered obsolete

Yes, but, you have to go through the long, grueling process of selecting, reskinning, or creating appropriate monsters in 4E. And the difficult task of converting DC's and whatnot. More seriously, I'm glad that Eberron wasn't changed because I'm using a 3E supplement for it in my game (Sharn...

    Falling off the 4ed bandwagon

Every class as far as I know has some kind of forced movement power somewhere along the line. Really, 4E is probably the best for your example, as the entire party has the opportunity to do it. If they don't have powers, which can happen if they avoid them, then they can always just use bull...

    Falling off the 4ed bandwagon

And not 3E? Doesn't this apply to D&D in general? Bring the monsters to 0 HP to kill them? Do you mean that there are no longer any save or die spells (which would still bring them to 0 HP...) Or are you talking about the lack of Diplomacy cheese? At least intimidate is still nice and cheesy...

    D&D 4E What Doesn't 4E Do Well?

Yeah, for some reason the published adventures focus on dungeon crawling, but 4e is actually terrible for dungeon crawls. Combat is not quick, and it's meant to be epic and interesting for each character involved. What this means is that there should be less combats per story element, because...

    Falling off the 4ed bandwagon

Balance and creativity are defined as what? In practice, a game with no rules does not necessarily have to be creative at all. It would be something along the lines of someone saying "There's a door. It's locked" and another saying "I open it." With no rules, you could creatively come up with a...

    Falling off the 4ed bandwagon

Haha, I'm considering pathfinder for when I go back to college in a week because someone in the group already has it. Though, I would probably only play a caster or a martialist(?) from the Book of Nine Swords.

    Falling off the 4ed bandwagon

Yep. Pretty much. Ever watch Angel Summoner and the BMX Bandit? It's a comedy sketch, British I believe, that shows a Gandalf-like figure and a BMX (bike) trick rider. BMX bandit forms these intricate plans about bike tricks and defeating bad guys, and the Angel Summoner says "Yes...or, I could...
