Song of Fire and Ice question

I don't think there are many folks who give the Syrio=Jaquen much crediance, there are too many holes. Check out one of the various huge threads that pop up every six months or so covering the subject at aSoI&F

Not enough sniffing but otherwise funny as hell.

    Wheel of Time

Crossroads was like readers digest only not as good and much longer. Having said that, the news kinda shines a ray of hope. Now, they need to get him a real editor.

    True20 Adventure Roleplaying Game

There is a largish thread on RPG.net about the need for Blue Rose without the Rose (whack the setting and style stuff, just give us the system). When the grumbles turned into --"Hey wait, this is OGl let's remove the IP and put just the rules for sale on RPG.now ourselves" -- GR steped in and...

Encouraging folks to do more reviews

Nice. I think there is a written and numerical difference in the review --- that is, reading your review gives me the idea of a 2.5 to 3.5 rating rather than your stated value of 4.5. I don't give much weight to the numbers preferring the actual written review (incidentially, I have had this...

Black Industries to produce DC Heroes RPG

Anybody catch the last line from the article linked on the front page? In the interview Chris states that GR has some exciting announcements and that one of them has to do with Superheroes - he is also avoiding any public comment. At a minimum, I think GR has the deal but the lingering question...

Encouraging folks to do more reviews

I don't know that I agree. I reviewed Dark Champions but clearly spelled out up front that I am a Dark Champions fanboy. There was some nit-picky stuff that only a fanboy would ever pick up but overall the review was just as useful as any other I have done. I also like reading critical reviews...

Encouraging folks to do more reviews

That is a pisser, to be blunt. I feel like a turd if it takes me more than two weeks (and some of the Hero products are huge reads) but twice I have gotten ill and that set me back into the 3 week range. I don't have much interest in reviewing crunch books (books of PrCs, spells, or classes)...

Encouraging folks to do more reviews

Yeah, I rather like it when folks talk about the review. Gives me some insight as to what I am doing right and/or wrong. I dislike it when I see a publisher go after a reviewer in public - that sucks (to be fair, I also dislike it when the reviewer shines a light on the tiff also) but it is...

The Guide to Demons, Re-reading The Mideval Fortress, and I bought The British Isles by White Wolf to peruse through.

Encouraging folks to do more reviews

I have written 20'ish reviews here and on RPG.net (depending on content) and I like to do reviews but dislike it when I don't like the product. It is hard to find a polite way to say "this sucks" and when I spend 2 hours looking and thinking about what the good points of a particular product...
