D&D 5E (2024) Downtime activity: Weapon Mastery Crafting

I have done that. Mastery idea was great, but poorly impemented. I did them as discount maneuvers: you can apply only one maneuver per atttack. 9th level fighter ability changed that fighter can apply 2 maneuvers per attack. maneuvers: Slow: apply to any weapon Graze apply to all 2Handed or...

    D&D General Hands slot economy

I just posted this in another thread, when S components and weapons come into play: and yes, you CAN hold a weapon and shield in the same hand.

    D&D 5E (2024) "Sword" and Board Build?

Well, that really depends on what you have in party, if you are good ar Perception and Survival then HM is good if you need to track the target, Hex is better if you have a rogue in the party that abuses combat Stealth, then you hex the wis checks of the target. whenever DMs gets too strict...

    D&D 5E (2024) "Sword" and Board Build?

depending on how irritating your DM is with S components and weapons, HM might be better than Hex as it has only V component and force damage is more reliable than necrotic. Also this is the only place where I will praise Ranger, it's a great 1-3 level dip on a fighter. when you have Con save...

D&D General Do you track ammunition?

If a I play I primary ranged character, I make sure I have bowyer/fletcher tool proficiency so I can make and repair used arrows. I have 30 arrow quiver and another 30 arrows packed in backpack as reserve if Short/Long rest is not available after battle. general rule, after battle 50% of arrows...

D&D 5E (2024) Is Combat Tedious on Purpose?

I do not find combat tedious, but sometimes I do find character actions repetitive simply as character, especially low levels really lack any real options in combat so one houserule addition to classes: martial classes: barbarian, fighter, monk, paladin, ranger, rogue get free battlemaster...

D&D 5E (2014) Help Me Combine the Wizard and Sorcerer Classes (+)

I always liked the sorcerer small number of spell preparation + 10 extra spells depending on theme of the caster. So take sorcerer 2014 spell known as chassis with metamagic. Add 1st level ritual feat that you can write ritual spells into the book, you have all your spells known with ritual tag...

Worlds of Design: Take a Bow

yup, MPs mandatory service, at 300m you can hit, on occasion, sometimes. at 100m from prone, I would say 95% of the time if you have peace and quiet to aim. and you will hear that it's effective up to 700m... effective at what? hitting an oil tanker?

Worlds of Design: Take a Bow

100m standing is a longshot, maybe someone can be completely still and aim standing at that range, but I certainly cant. I need to brace the rifle on something.

Worlds of Design: Take a Bow

that is why you train at 25 meters. if you get decent at 25, you are great at 10m. when I first time used Ero(croatian knockoff if Uzi), we practiced at 50m and at 100m was for a goof. AKs were used at 100,200 and 300.

Worlds of Design: Take a Bow

take someone that never used either. give them a target 25m away, 20 arrows or bullets, and see how many arrows hit the mark and how many bullets hit the mark.

Worlds of Design: Take a Bow

agree with that, however, I do have a recurve bow(modern materials, but basically medieval in design), 1st time I used it at 25meters, I managed to hit it once out of 15 arrows and that was more probably due to luck than anything else. after few months it got way better. but, in the military...

Worlds of Design: Take a Bow

I didn't say that it takes one minute to become olympic marksman or to field strip it blindfolded. all you need to learn 1st time is how to put in magazine, safety, cocking handle to chamber a round, aim down the site and pull the trigger. and after how to release the magazine for a new one...

Worlds of Design: Take a Bow

that would be great in D&D if crossbows are balanced around having to use Action to reload them. maybe: heavy crossbow, simple weapon range 60/240 damage 2d8 P it's great for opening ambush, but if you do not have extra prepared or a companion at hand, you will fire every other round 1 shot only.

    D&D 5E (2024) Multiclassing as feats:

during UA for 2024, we had a moment with universal subclass levels for all classes and that could have been a good place to have the "dabbler" subclass or even universal subclasses. I.E: battlemaster could have been a universal subclass for anyone, sure, the martials would utilize it the best...

    D&D 5E (2024) Multiclassing as feats:

this is how I value proficiency and I might be wrong a lot. base is skill proficiency value: skill: 1 proficiency expertise: 2 proficiency tools/languages: 3 for 1 proficiency in any combination martial weapons: 2 proficiency fighting style: 3 proficiency, requires martial weapons light...
