Mephistopheles, Lord of the Eighth Hell

Nice.... You have Heighten listed twice, and with all the metamagic feats, he should really take Improved Metamagic at least once...

    Simple Epic Feat: Healing Hands

    Not a bad idea. Done.

Cost of creating a Ring of Stoneskin

I agree. Buy that level it will be useless, everyone else will have at least +5 weapons or +5 DR on critters (thus bypassing your DR).

    Simple Epic Feat: Healing Hands

Healing Hands [Epic] Prerequisites: lay on hands class ability, Charisma 15+. Benefit: The number of hit points you cure normally per day is doubled. Pretty easy feat. Critiques?

Cost of creating a Ring of Stoneskin

IIRC, a "ring of stoneskin" is in the ELH. It's called a ring of ironskin, and confers a 10/+5 DR to the wearer at all times. I don't recall the price, but it is 200K+ gp.

    Epic Metamagic

There are at least a couple things not spelled out explicitly in the rules we end up having to figure out for ourselves. Or we can ask the game designers and see what they think. For instance, there isn't *specific* text allowing one to stack the same metamagic feat multiple times (empowered...

    Blinding Speed [epic]

Extraordinary. If it says "act as if hasted" (don't have it on me, so can't double check), then it definitely is Ex. If we start ruling feats as supernatural, what, no spring attack in an AMF? The line gets all fuzzy, which feats are super, which extra, blah blah and more confusion. They are...

    Epic Metamagic

Maximize Spell has the example. I knew I read it somewhere.

    Epic Metamagic

That's a good point. I didn't see a reference in the PHB that states this explicitly (at least in not a first printing of the PHB). However, if you consult the D&D FAQ, flip to the "Metamagic Feats" section and look at the first question. It talks about Empower applying to the basic spell...

    Epic Metamagic

Let's see if I can break this down... The original post says 40th level. So if we take a non-human wizard, our feats look something like: 7 normal, 4 normal meta/item creation, 7 normal epic, 6 bonus wizard epic Normal <= 20, Epic > 20 That gives us 13 epic feats to play with. So first, we...

    Epic Metamagic

You have to *really* tweak a character in order to pull of what you are proposing. Before you break out houserules, try designing the wizard that is going to cast this spell. That's a *lot* of feats, might take more levels than a 40th level wizard. When you finally design the character that...

    How to counter Mordenkainen's Disjunction

While not what you are looking for.... Don't use buffing spells. Don't carry magic items . Not what most people would suggest, but if you are expecting to be blasted by a disjunction and taking severe losses, might as well tuck the items away. Also, if you set up a contingency to...

Any purist class characters? (no multiclassing)

I actually prefer single classed characters. So I'm running a 21st level Paladin (I think they scale well) in an Epic game, and I played in an Epic one shot where I played a Wiz26 and the other player in the one shot was a Mnk26.

    Epic Level Dragons

Pretty nasty. The SR seems a bit low. A CR 39 critter having SR 39 is usually way too low. Typically SR is CR + 10, but other than this nitpick, nice job.

    Epic Archmage

Echo Crothian. All 5-level prestige classes are not entitled to Epic Progressions. There is reasoning in the ELH for this, and I seriously doubt there will ever be an official version of any 5-level PrC expanded to Epic Levels.

    Can you Really kill someone?

In other words: No, you can't *really* kill someone. That arch-villain or do-gooder will always have a chance, however slim, of rising from the beyond and planting his boot/shoe/heel in your backside. That's part of the fun though...so the party turns your main villain to stone, puts him in a...

Disjoining Certain Items: What happens now?

Seriously, inquiring spellcasters want to know. Boccob's Blessed Book is hit with a disjunction. It fails the will save. What state is the book in now? Are all the spells gone? What all happens? Similar question with a bag of holding. Any thoughts?

    Mithril and Masterwork

There ye go. It's also in the DMG, but I don't have the book on me to give a page number.

    Underpowered Spells

I'm sorry, but Foresight *rules*. I ended up rescuing my party due to this spell, able to avoid traps and encounters. The game bonuses are fairly weak, but considering it prevents you from "doing something stupid" in the eyes of the DM, it *definitely* has it's 9th level value.

Do Multiclassed Epic Characters Get The Shaft?

That's true, but this should be done through feat chains, not barring access to feats. Even at lower levels, one has the choice of following a feat chain (such as Dodge, Mobility etc), versus picking up individual powers (Lit Reflexes, Iron Will). Think about it at low levels. At low levels...
