    New Spell:Holy Bolt (New Version)(Edited)

Are there any Evocation[Good] spells? I don't recall seeing any such spells... if that's the case, then you may want to change it. Check the other spells that channel positive energy and see what their types are. Later.

    Bracers of Epic Armor

The +9, +10 bracers are considered non-epic. Several NPCs (non-epic) have had them in published books (FR comes to mind). While the bracers in the DMG only list prices for up to +8, the formula scales easily and the ELH pretty much assumes you can figure out how much they cost. Later!

    Contingency and Dimensional Anchor

As opposed to what? Spellcraft checks are made while the spell is cast (just before for counterspell purposes). I'd allow it since the spell is already cast, is streaking at the wizard, and probably is easy to tell what it is. The only other "green ray" that comes to mind is disintegrate. So...

    Contingency and Dimensional Anchor

I'd allow it if it were worded a bit differently... "Teleport to X when Dimensional Anchor is cast against me." (or similar) That way, the teleport would occur once the anchor is cast, *not* when it hits you. So the enemy spellcaster would cast the spell and as the green ray came straight at...

    Are PrC's too powerful?

It is very rare that a player can't think of some way to have a PrC fill a role in the world. And if the player has created a good story that fits the PrC, it is harder to deny the class. Also, there are several PrCs that don't seem to fit any particular niche. Archmage comes to mind. What...

Request for an Epic Spell design

I could see using the Life or Fotify seeds (or both). Whatever one decides on, the Spellcraft DC adjustment would be ad hoc, since it is not spelled out anywhere. It would be pretty easy to make the spell, but leave out what the final spellcraft DC is since there would be a variety of opinions...

What level is your party at right now?

Level 30 in a messed up world. Strangely enough, my character is the main plot device and has some...special advantages/disadvantages. As per using the ELH, we are using it. Personally, I have a laundry list of problems with it. Honestly I think the epic level rules were poorly done, and...

    Are PrC's too powerful?

Are PrC classes overpowered? Definitely yes. How can I say this? Create two characters, one is a vanilla whatever, the other takes a PrC. The vast majority of the time (note: some are fairly balanced, but most are not) the PrC character has a considerable advantage. Thus I am reluctant to...

Save or DIE spells level by level.

I could *swear* a sage e-mail said it was supposed to have a reflex save.... Otherwise, I could have a lot of fun with this spell... I've been using it primarily for defense (as I thing that is the spirit of the spell), but this could easily be abused during combat by trapping anyone who can't...

Save or DIE spells level by level.

Wall of Force is supposed to have a reflex save to avoid it (like the other walls spells). I'm almost certain it is in the errata.

Absorbption & Spell Turning active, what happens...

Hm... I don't think there is any rule, but I'd say the rod would take precedence for a few reasons. First, having spell turning would make a rod of absorption pretty useless (wait, lemme take off the ring). Next, an argument could be made that the target changes from the character to the rod...

    Max Base saves (smackish?)

Yeah, I got that... the original poster only got 20 in each (sum of 60). I think the absolute max would be 40 in each (sum 120), but realistically 30 in each is probably attainable (sum 90).

Suggestion: Full hitpoints for players, NPCs, and monsters alike.

You can do as you like... In a game I just got in, we did 35 point buy (yeah, high powered) and took average hit points with halves rounding up. So d4 = 3, d6 = 4, d8 = 5 and so on. That way, the hitpoints should be just above average, slightly better than what monsters normally get (straight...

    New Metamagic: Dismissable Spell

Dismissing a spell is a standard action. Feat is a little on the weak side.

    My first epic spell

Now all you need is a 100th level caster and your set... well maybe a 90th....

    Max Base saves (smackish?)

Can't you just multiclass like crazy and get a really high base save? I think the absolute max would be a base of 40 in all saves (take one level in 20 classes that have good saves for all). However, I don't know if there are that many classes available... so each level should at least raise 2...

Epic Spells: Caster Level instead of skills?

I typed out a long response a few days ago, but lost it (darn) so it has taken me a bit to get back to this... I agree it varies from spell to spell. The system is set up, in general, with the principle that combat spells are more useful. Why? 3e is combat centric, spells can drastically...

Save or DIE spells level by level.

Meteor swarm is pure hit point damage. It's good to kill someone by beating them with large objects (meteors), but it does not make the target incapacitated or slain automatically. Also, if we are including super damage spells, Creeping Doom would be at the top of the list.... I'll go back...

    Spell Turning

For practical reasons, if I were DM, I'd say the spell would work fine. However, from a mechanical standpoint, the spell would be bounced back to yourself. This does *cost* 3 levels of spell turning, if you are using the spell.
