    Are we fair to WotC?

My retailer said that this is what happened during the d20/OGL days. Customers would first reserve "one of each new d20/OGL product" then stopped doing so as the glut arrived. Good to know another data point! (:

    Are we fair to WotC?

I should add that Warhammer and Magic the Gathering are examples of "one system, multiple purchase" models that have succeeded, although you'll easily find skirmish games, CCGs, and CMGs that fell flat. WotC itself had the Chainmail and D&D Miniatures lines, and now has its D&D Adventure System...

    Are we fair to WotC?

New to the thread, but, IMO, WotC's *real* problem with D&D is that RPGs are a very small market. I mean, once everyone buys a Player's Handbook, then what? The players don't have any reason to buy the Monster Manual and Dungeonmaster's Guide, yet both books cost as much to write and publish...

    [Miniatures] Dog's Bones - 2018 ->Dec 18th - Animals

Agreed on the wash. I like QuickShade Inks (eye droppers) washes. The brown Strong Tone is the most versatile, but black Dark Tone is useful sometimes. With Bones, I find applying a wash of Pledge Future Floor Wax (Amazon and Walmart) mixed with some runny AppleBarrel black craft paint REALLY...

MYTH a fully cooperative fantasy game

Well, they just unlocked a SECOND set of additional tiles. Next up, Followers. I don't think they've released rules on how followers work, tho.

fyi, Itar's Workshop has started a "similar but not the same" dungeon thingies KickStarter. Itar's Workshop: * Basic tiles are half-wall height, and work well as narrow corridors. * Accessories are unpainted medieval furniture. * Low international shipping for one basic tile set. * KS...

Itar's Workshop: Dungeon Terrain and Accessories (Great for 2D tiles)

No minimum pledge level! I think it's covered in the FAQ at the bottom of the KS screen. No shipping charges US. Steve: At 10K stretch goal, they'll have torture equipment, including gallows. Fun for the whole family! The WI KS dropped out of the KickTraq Top 10, so definitely spread the word!

Itar's Workshop: Dungeon Terrain and Accessories (Great for 2D tiles)

Itar's Workshop is running a dungeon terrain and accessories KickStarter. IW is raising funds for a spin-casting system for their line of resin models and has a modest goal of $7000. You're probably already familiar with the Dwaven Forge KickStarter, so here's how they compare. IMO, There's...

Yes. :D More importantly, if you play Descent or any "runebound-locked" door, you can drybrush one of your demon doors red, and another blue. Even if you don't use the other DF tiles, the demon-doors would be MUCH easier to distinguish in your Descent box from the other cardboard doors than the...

Post what the heck you get at the $150 Netherworld level. DCM's pricing is confusing as heck, although the KS format doesn't help at all. Thanks!

My Bones are Here! (212 reaper minis)

The Reaper Bones subforum has tips on painting "your first coat" of Bones. I've had some luck with gesso + paint as a wash on Bones miniatures, to bring out the detail. Should work with the translucent figures...

In need of advice: laptop vs ipad for tabletop gaming!

Definitely an iPad BUT only if you already own a computer. I own both and use them for different purposes. The iPad is more of a portable viewer (watching shows on my back, reading internet stuff), and the laptop is something that sits on a desk and has a keyboard (internet forums, personal...

KickTraq gives a sorta ballpark idea of how much a project will make. However, most projects get something like 1/3 of their funding towards the last two days, so don't entirely rely upon it! http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/dwarvenforge/dwarven-forges-game-tiles-revolutionary-miniature/
