    Given concentration can be broken, I see no problem whatsoever with allowing multi spell concentration. In fact it would make playing casters more interesting again, instead of buffbots, counterspellers and cantrip/ritual spammers.

    Free attack when you drop someone or crit, plus a Str or Dex boost, is still a great feat imo. Just not OP.

    Yeah, imo martial damage dealers are already in the driver's seat in 5e. They still deal the most damage overall and never run out of sword swings. And almost every subclass gets magic too, so....

    The best and simplest way to fix the -5/+10 mechanic is to delete it. Make those feats "half feats" instead, giving +1 Str or Dex in lieu.

    It's not even realistic though to attack a downed PC. Not when there are viable threats up on their feet. Even healers on their feet. You would simply try and disable the healer first.

    Exactly this. It's woeful and should have been eliminated in playtesting. And that's with only one enemy (or PC) counterspeller... it basically just removes combat magic from the game (sigh)

    Why - coz negating spells is boring! How should wizards duel? By blasting the sh*t out of each other with their magics, o' course ;)

    Death is faaaaaar too rare and difficult in 5e for my tastes, and then when it happens, trivially overcome with revivify, a mere 3rd level spell. Here is the fix to make 5e dangerous: (1) remove all raise dead type magic from PC spell lists, (ii) only one death save at zero hp, not three.

    Counterspell should be torn from the spell lists and hurled in the bog of eternal stench, never to be seen again.
