    Bugbear PC - Which Class?

One day I'd like to make a Master Samurai character, but... there's an exotic weapon I look forward to using (and Master Samurai are pretty much bastard-sword focused), and another PC is planning on a Oriental Adventures Samurai. Not wanting to step on his toes, I've abandoned this option. The...

    Shield Charge equivalent?

reapersaurus, Works great for me! The vast majority of our fights are over in three rounds or less.

    Bugbear PC - Which Class?

I'm beginning a new campaign where ECL characters are accepted. I've decided to play a Bugbear character, and I'm really wanting to play a fighter or barbarian type of character. (Although I wouldn't be opposed to a psionic warrior either) Basically I am asking for some ideas on what class and...

    Shield Charge equivalent?

reapersaurus, The nifty thing is, Divine Shield adds a bonus to both the offensive AND defensive capabilities of a shield. In effect, you hit more often, do more damage, and get a higher AC to boot. That's nice even with a low charisma bonus (assuming you don't have a +5 offensively/+5...

    Shield Charge equivalent?

Ki Ryn, Considering two things, I would say that yes, Shield Charge is a balanced feat. 1. The requirements for Shield Charge require Improved Shield Bash and Power Attack, so it's the third in a chain of feats. Not unlike Whirlwind attack in that regard, it's a feat whose power is somewhat...

    Shield Charge equivalent?

Ki Ryn, I had no idea my tactic was so unpopular! :) It could be worse... I was planning to pick up Divine Shield as my next feat.

    Bottom 5 D&D and D20 items

Hey King Stannis! (And others) Although this is a blatant plug (since I work for Citizen Games) I can't help but notice that what you're describing, an NPC resource, is almost exactly like our 1,000 faces books. The first book, Villains and Scoundrels, covers 250 "bad guys" who run the gamut...

    Conglomeration gives locals the shaft!

Conglomeration is the Louisville, Kentucky, gaming and sci-fi convention that comes around every year. They've never been warm to the local game stores, game companies, and gamers, but lately they've been downright antisocial. Here's the homepage link...

    Origins was awesome

Origins was indeed a lot of fun. I played in a Sidewinder Wild West D20 Demo, played some Dwarven Dig by Kenzer, and demo'd a game called Dungeoneer. These games were all a hell of a lot of fun. I also played in Rod Currie's SuperSquad America game, he runs at every Origins/Gen Con. Now in...

    is D&D evil? Thoughts please

Do a web search for Mike Stackpole's "Pulling Report"... you'll find it very informative on why roleplaying has such a bad rap.

    Fisherman's Art?

Hi All, In a previous incarnation of these messageboards, I once saw a listing for artwork. A member named 'Fisherman' had some truly outstanding pics, including an elven ranger with a bow and a cleric bearing a warhammer. Does anyone know if Fisherman has a web page with these pics...

Insanely dangerous things you can throw at low level players fairly

Another kentuckian chimes in: The half-dragon ogre as the example half-dragon template from the monster manual killed my entire party. He's only CR 4. A group of 5, 3rd level characters died to the man in combat with him. This is where I made up my mind that CR for a monster is very...

    [OT] Shadowrun Seattle: MUSH

I played a number of characters on Seattle. My most favorite character was Alita, but the one I'm probably best known for (or worst known for) was X'ian, whom I played back when I was young and very very dumb. All my characters have been street-samurai types. This is a general comment to all...

    [OT] Shadowrun Seattle: MUSH

Seattle can be fun. The pro's: a 24/7 gaming environment. Move beyond the tabletop and take your character into a world where you can literally scheme for weeks if you want. Nearly anything you can imagine can be done. Also, it's nice to be able to log on at 2 in the AM and find people to...

    Birthright!

Okay, here's the deal: Birthright.net is the Official Birthright website. Anything they put up on their website (subject to WOTC review, which is the same deal the Official Dark Sun and Planescape websites have) is Official. So, that means the BRCS (Birthright Campaign Setting) book they have...

    KidCthulhu's Scarred Land story hour

Morgaine, are you saying a mage armor spell helped Xenia? (who's wearing metal armor, fairly substantial I would think...) Mage armor normally does not stack with worn armor of any kind. Perhaps it was a shield spell instead?

[OT - SW] Official Episode 2 Opening Week Boycott Thread

I am joining in with the boycott of opening week for Episode II. Why? Because Episode I was a travesty, a peice of steaming crap with some nice fight scenes. It means nothing to the big boys, least of all Lucas himself, but a man has a right to make a stand... even if it's an empty threat :)

    Can Undead use Potions?

Some of 'em don't have lips, or stomachs to pour the stuff into. Some are little more than wandering skeletons. But I can't seem to find a rule that specifically limits undead from using potions... can anyone help me out here with an official or semi official ruling that makes sense?
