Default "PoL" Setting - Setting Info Compilation (Now Wikified!)

Huh? I thought coming up with the details was the fun part. Also, I think you're confusing the concept of what a POL setting is with the approach WotC is taking with the implied 4e setting. POL doesn't mean "unmapped," even if WotC is never going to publish one for the implied setting.

Default "PoL" Setting - Setting Info Compilation (Now Wikified!)

Great thread! Shouldn't Fallhaven on the map be Fallcrest, from the DMG?

    What is wrong with 4E?

You will be disappointed looking for a 4e-like experience in Descent. Descent doesn't even have character creation rules!

    D&D Insider! UP ! (merged)

Most likely your account will still exist, but you won't be able to see anything that costs money, even when you log in Don't worry- they can't charge you if you haven't given them any payment information.

    GSL OGL???? What?

Unless you also have a license from NBC to publish your work, the GSL isn't really relevant to this endeavor.

    Dwarf boobs

Well, since the vast majority of mammals don't have breasts, I think it's safe to say that dwarves have them for the exact same reason that dragonborn do.

Well, the question of when it's going to be pirated is now a matter for history books

What history book do you think is going to record this event?

    WotC and Buy.com

For Super Saver shipping on Amazon, the help page says "may take an additional 3 to 5 business days to ship out from our fulfillment center(s)." I think all the paid methods work as you describe, though.

    What SHOULD FLGS do?

Have everything I might possibly want to buy in stock. For me, instant gratification is the only way the LGS can compete with online shopping. If they have to order it- no thanks, I can do that myself.

Eladrins, Tieflings, Dragonborn Too Far Outside Standard Fantasy?

Why the fixation on breasts? Before deciding to allow them in my campaign, I need to know if dragonborn males have penises, hemipenises, or (like tuataras) have no copulatory organs at all.

    Impressions from KotS

I only paid $19.77. If you paid the full $30, you're paying for something more than what the product is worth on it's own. That "something more" might be support to your LGS or other independent business, or maybe the convenience of shopping at a chain store without signing up for their discount...

Excerpt: Minions. Go forth mine minions! Bring havoc with your 1 hp [merged]

Seems like rolling or not rolling for damage would also be a dead give away.

    How will you handle this?

If they really want to keep doing the same thing they already enjoy, the obvious solution is to not switch. Even switching to a race/class combo with the same names as 3e won't be a continuation of the same thing. But you already know this, and you already know all the possible answers to the...

    D&D 4E 4e Playtesters revealed!

They did fully explain their reasoning behind this change. It doesn't do any good- it just leads to nitpicking over the validity of the reason given.

    GSL FAQ up

This is beside the point. The point is that the D&D 4E GSL only allows for products to be published specificity as D&D supplements. Because this wouldn't be appropriate for all genres (or non-fantasy, as the interview puts it) there will be another license. There's no need to decide what...

PLayer's pre-opinions more important than quality of system

It's actually pretty easy to tell the difference, in my experience.

[Ampersand] Bill Slavicsek on campaign settings

You're conflating two separate definitions of "core." It doesn't always mean "required to play the game." All of the non-campaign setting books were classified as core in 3e, too. The situation in 4e will be no different than it is in 3e, when it comes to what you need to play the game.

[Ampersand] Bill Slavicsek on campaign settings

It will work for me. Knowing that each setting is only 3 books, and is specifically designed to have universally useful content, I'll likely by them all. By contrast, I bought no 3e FR products, and only the core Eberron book.

    Is "Justiciar" the new "Rogue?"

That's not happening here, though. Supporters of "Justicar" are saying that the language has already evolved, and the prescriptionists need to catch up. I'm talking about Justiciar as the title of a paragon path in 4th edition D&D. This is, effectively, an invented word. Non-game usage of the...

    Is "Justiciar" the new "Rogue?"

How is this BS? It's an undeniable fact of language. Especially in this case, where the context of the word is completely made up to begin with. It happened to be named after a real-life word, but it didn't need to be.
