D&D 5E (2014) Necromancer Games: Sneak Peak, Book of Lost Spells

So will all these spells fit 5e or will they just be 3e feats pasted into 5e? Such as will feats scale based on the level of spell slot used and not by the the level of the caster?

D&D 5E (2014) Wizard with 20 CON and the Durable feat

Well, that would depend really. How many monsters with fire resistance are they running into? If they are playing a Planescape campaign it could be every other monster. Maybe a sorcerer with a copper dragon bloodline wouldn't want to take the feat? Well, it seems you know the percentage of...

    D&D 5E (2014) Atheism/Agnosticism in 5e?

The whole polytheism we find in D&D never makes any logical sense anyway. If you want your wizard to cast from the divine spell list in your world or vice-versa, go for it. Bards don't seem to be considered arcane in 5e. They have their own spell card set instead of sharing with the other...

A sorcerer with a red dragon bloodline is going to want to cast nothing but fire spells.

No, it should not be a sack of goodies. Then you run into the same min-maxing crap that was found in 3e and 4e. The major feature of that feat is ignoring resistance for one element, not the treat 1s as 2s. It is powerful. It just isn't for every spellcaster.

D&D 5E (2014) Wizard with 20 CON and the Durable feat

I disagree, it's a very nice feat if I want to make an elementalist. Feats aren't suppose to be a halloween bag of goodies for everyone. They are suppose to be ways players can specialize their characters in the direction they want to take them.

D&D 5E (2014) Wizard with 20 CON and the Durable feat

... logical [loj-i-kuhl] adjective 1. according to or agreeing with the principles of logic: a logical inference. A die without modifiers cannot roll higher than the highest number that is on the die. A six sided die has six sides numbered 1 through 6 and thus cannot roll higher than...

    D&D 5E (2014) Healing

You can compare Fireball at 12d6 20' radius to the Meteor Swarm as well. Bounded accuracy has nothing to do with damage. It's about attacks, ability checks, and saving throws. I imagine many monsters like dragons will do worse things than Meteor Swarm.

    D&D 5E (2014) Healing

I don't see an issue. It's part of the balance of the class. Someone that prepares a 9th level spell can only cast it once and only in a 9th level spell slot. A 1st level spell can be cast 22 times in any level of spell slots. It's the same way with damage spells. Burning Hands in a 9th level...

D&D 5E (2014) Wizard with 20 CON and the Durable feat

You are assuming you add other modifiers based on the terminology used in D&D. Specifically the term "attack roll" which is explained under attacks. The term "saving throw" means nothing in ordinary English. D&D has its own terminology. The feat isn't supposed to be a massive power...

    D&D 5E (2014) Healing

If a spell you get at first level scales in power to the point it is identical a 9th level spell if used in the same spell slot, what would be the point of the 9th level spell? That 9th level spell would be fundamentally worse because it wouldn't have the flexibility of a 1st level spell...

1.) It's about context, by the mention of a specific number it's obviously referring to the individual die. 2.) D&D 5E (2014) Wizard with 20 CON and the Durable feat

You add modifiers to an attack roll. That's assumed in every instance when an attack roll is mentioned. There is no difference between that and assuming that a HD roll includes the modifiers as well when it is mentioned. The difference is your interpretation because you are used to the mention...

D&D 5E (2014) Wizard with 20 CON and the Durable feat

This is not true. There are numerous times in the Basic Rules that the words attack roll is used without mentioning modifiers. When Bless says, "Whenever a target makes an attack roll or a saving throw before the spell ends, the target can roll a d4 and add the number rolled to the attack...

10 if you roll a 1-5, 11 if you roll a 6. The brokenness of what is being suggested isn't an issue with the wizard. It's an issue with every other class. If it was 15, every class except the barbarian would get maximum hit dice with a 20 Constitution.
