D&D 5E (2014) The 2024 Ranger is Actually Pretty Good (with numbers)

For clarification. The heavy property requires 13 DEX as a ranged weapon, and great weapon master can be taken requiring 13 STR. DEX is needed, STR is wanted.

D&D 5E (2024) Primal Power. Druid Tier List.

The druid doesn't need to be standing next to an enemy at the end of the turn. Only when they spend that bonus action because of the range. The druid can take the action, bonus action, and movement in any order. A sea druid could, for example, spend the bonus action first to manifest Wrath of...

D&D 5E (2024) Primal Power. Druid Tier List.

I think so but not by much. The 3rd level abilities both have pros and cons, the land druid 6th level ability is definitely better, the 10th level ability favors the sea druid, and land druids don't need to compete with another character's bonus action in the 14th level ability.

They also give more bonus spells prepared than any other druid subclass in the 2024 PHB. I'm not sure "almost free to use" is the right description. Costing a use of Wild Shape for a 10 minute ability is a cost; but like many other druid abilities not too bad now that druids can reload using...

Not by RAW. They don't need components but they're still casting a spell.

    D&D 5E (2014) Damage Spell Scaling

Yeah, I don't recall the conversation from 5 years ago. I've moved into 2024 since then. ;-)

Shadow-Touched. Fey-Touched can grab Hunter's Mark or Hex and doesn't seem as useful on a ranger.

D&D 5E (2014) The 2024 Ranger is Actually Pretty Good (with numbers)

This isn't untrue, but as others have pointed out it's the effect this has later. A paladin has Paladin's Smite for 1 use of Divine Smite. A ranger has Favored Enemy for 2-6 uses of Hunter's Mark. Once the paladin has used up that free use of divine smite he's using spell slots for smites at...

Maybe B+ An extra attack cantrip is useful, but it's Natural Recovery where I see the value.

D&D 5E (2024) Primal Power. Druid Tier List.

Most subclasses don't give a bonus cantrip in their bonus spells on other classes. 3 out 4 druid subclasses in the 2024 PHB do, and land druids are unique in changing out the subclass bonus spell list. That's 2d6 damage in a 10'R sphere plus 2d6 healing one person. It scales up to 3d6 and...

D&D 5E (2024) Complete Divine Power: Cleric Domain Tier List

I think saving war priest for times the war cleric misses with an attack also makes divine strike damage more reliable over the day because of the per your turn restriction.

    D&D 5E (2024) The Lackluster Ranger

These questions don't seem relevant in the 2024 changes. Favored Enemy was updated to Hunter's Mark free uses and modifications. Favored terrain is now Expertise, Roving, and Tireless. Each of those is applicable everywhere. I think the important question is "Will I have fun?" The ranger...

D&D 5E (2024) Complete Divine Power: Cleric Domain Tier List

Note the bold etc. True Strike is still the Magic Action and the bonus action for the second weapon still requires the Attack Action.

D&D 5E (2024) Complete Divine Power: Cleric Domain Tier List

The difference between 14 DEX and 15 STR is minor, and if you think 1 point of AC is minor one way the 1 point of AC is minor the other way going with 13 STR instead using chainmail. STR as an attack stat becomes irrelevant with shillelagh. Not many war clerics rely on stealth, acrobatics, or...

D&D 5E (2024) Complete Divine Power: Cleric Domain Tier List

Here is the 2024 version: The war priest bonus action is independent of what the main action is. It doesn't need any trigger.

By permanent bonus I mean an effect thematic to that terrain but useful everywhere.

I'm not sure why permanent bonuses based on favored terrain isn't a thing. It's thematic and I 've seen it suggested often.

D&D 5E (2024) Complete Divine Power: Cleric Domain Tier List

A +10 bonus at 3rd level is a huge bonus compared to alternatives. It competes with divine spark in uses but between the two it's hard to imagine not having a use for channel divinity. Domain spells is a strong feature for all clerics. More spells prepped this way allows for mor leeway in...

    D&D 5E (2024) The Lackluster Ranger

Inspiring themselves is better than expertise (because it can be applied to far more skills or types of checks) and the lore bards need a new 14th level ability. Expertise instead keeps more simple and restricts the benefits to a few skills. The problem is bards need to have some appeal over...
