Does clerical healing magic (e.g. cure light wounds) close wounds?

Does clerical healing magic (e.g. cure light wounds) close wounds? I know there's another thread going, but please, rather than answer based upon your answer in the other thread, or upon gaming theory, please answer based upon what happens at your table when you play. When you play, and...

    Do Healing Surges close wounds?

Mainly, I was curious about the degree of the split. So far the poll isn't an even split at all. Also, I created a poll because I've always considered hp to be abstract wounds (well, lost hp) and also always considered healing to be closing of the wounds. EDIT: Interesting ideas about...

    Do Healing Surges close wounds?

Simple question, inspired by the http://www.enworld.org/forum/general-rpg-discussion/312254-i-dont-get-dislike-healing-surges.html thread. Do Healing Surges close wounds?

I don't get the dislike of healing surges

"You keep using that word...I do not think it means what you think it means." I agree with much of the "after the fact" narration discussion, and that's the primary issue for me. But the other issue is the name (or names). "Healing surges" don't actually "heal", particularly in the...

    D&D 3.x's

After reading the OP, If you don't know/haven't checked out Trailblazer, I think you really should! It has a ton of rules options to address a variety of issues in 3.x. I think it's possible that it might be exactly what you're looking for. You might be interested in the Advanced Player's...

NEWS: Pathfinder Beginner Box -- UNBOXED

I assume you refer to First Quest, which came with SIX (not four) crappy blue heroes, and cost not $20, but $30. SideStrafe's Nostalgia Night - Advanced Dungeons & Dragons "First Quest" 1994 - YouTube (With inflation, from 1994 to now, that $30 is worth...$45.86) Inflation Calculator...

I don't get the dislike of healing surges

Ok, I'm not picking on Naszir, here, it's just the most recent example of what I'm addressing. Second wind causes the character to heal themself of wounds. The 4e phb quotes I've provided slightly upthread seem to disagree with our common sense view of it, and state (pretty clearly...

Hit points across several editions, and curing: Hit points across editions, and curing: AD&D first edition phb, p34: "These hit points represent how much damage (actual or potential) the character can withstand before being killed. A certain amount of these hit points represent the actual...

I don't get the dislike of healing surges

Well, yes and no. I think what he's saying (and what I am definitely saying, but said in more depth here http://www.enworld.org/forum/5697988-post118.html) is that they wrote "these are kinda abstract" but then they went ahead and made just about every rule as if they were concrete. It's not...

I don't get the dislike of healing surges

Yes hitpoints in all editions have been, to a degree, abstract. They have also been, to a degree, concrete. Healing surges are, almost in their entirety, abstract. I don't know why people don't see that. Some examples of hit points meaning "you got hit and got hurt" include "rider...

    D&D 5E (2014) Monte Cook working on 5E?

I don't see the rationale for waiting until 2014 to hit the 40 year mark. They'll make decisions based on projected profitablility, the market, etc. etc. I don't think they'll make more money by releasing it concurrently with the anniversary. Instead, I think (and hope) we'll see an...

    Dilemna: Should I Quit RPGs?

Pentius and Dannyalcatraz have it right. I was going for my doctorate in clinical psychology. I, too, have a problem with procrastination. In the end I quit grad school with just my masters degree (because we have a young son and my wife is a doctor so my flexible schedule is very valuable...

    Instant Edition Converter

Two real issues: 1. Would it be possible? 2. Would it "work" at the table? For the first, it'd require massive, massive rules knowledge to create such a thing. Might it be possible? Yes. But it'd have to either be more "guidelines driven" for specific feats, prestige classes, monster...

What's stopping WOTC from going back to 3.5?

I'm not sure about the 3.5>Pathfinder assumption. Looking at third party publishers, there seem to be few to none working on 3.5 products at this point. All seem to have moved to either Pathfinder or 4e (or both). While people may play 3.5, I don't think there remains a market for it...

    Tracking sales.

Well, these are Amazon numbers only (by proxy)... so there's a limitation in the data. So far the data seem to agree with the ICV stuffs. An important note...the lower the rank, the BETTER (like golf). Number 1 rank is the best seller on Amazon. EDIT: My interpetation (and this is...

Review of Midgard Bestiary (Vol. 1) by Josh Jarman

I agree. From what I remember, they're out there...but not in a collected sense such as this. Such conversion might well be required...or some pressure could be put on OD/Wolfgang Baur to release a compiled version of these monsters for other systems. BWA HA HA!

Review of Midgard Bestiary (Vol. 1) by Josh Jarman

I could be wrong, but aren't these monsters conversions of previous Pathfinder (or at minimum 3.5) monsters? I don't think conversion will be necessary to Pathfinder if this is the case. :) But....like I said...I could be wrong.
