I give PCs half their hit die rounded up, without a roll. So a fighter gets 6hp per level, a rogue 4hp, and a wizard 3hp.

This is what made me vote "yes, but reluctantly". I'd have no problems if we were all on the same level; it's being on the low end that's a problem. I'd be just as reluctant to play stats like 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 12 if I'm on the low end there as well.

A good rule of thumb is to replace all instances of "willing" with "not actively resisting".

Except, of course, that this is not a hard and fast rule: It says "Often chaotic evil", not "always chaotic evil" or "always evil". By the SRD, the naked fact that it's an orc does not guarantee that it is evil.

Well, there's always the classics: an undead bane or disruption weapon. Not playing to your strengths, but what can you do? If your GM is amenable to such things, perhaps your party's cleric might research some way to craft a permanent grave strike weapon that lets you sneak attack undead...

A lot of people play low-wealth or "low-magic" campaigns where it's difficult or impossible to craft items. Others play in fast-paced adventuring games where their PCs don't have the time or opportunity to craft or purchase magical items.
