    D&D 5E (2014) Evaluating the warlord-y Fighter

I really like the 4e warlord as a concept and agree that it currently can't be replicated exactly in 5e. However, I feel that the Battlemaster comes really quite close thematically, especially if you take feats like Inspiring Leader and Martial Adept. If you want to allow home-brew, I'd think...

    D&D 5E (2014) The Adventurer's Handbook Speculation Thread

How do you guys think they will handle the flying? Wouldn't it be break the balance of the game too much if level 1 characters have flight?

    D&D 5E (2014) The Adventurer's Handbook Speculation Thread

I think most people here have the right ideas about what will be in the book. It's important to keep in mind that it will most likely not only contain information useful for playing Elemental Evil & Forgotten Realms campaigns, but will also provide information that could be seen as support for...

    D&D 5E (2014) Races/Classes - Revisiting Common/Uncommon and Rare

My campaign setting is set on the northern polar regions of the fantasy world and I've only mapped a part of that region and have decided which races are common in the area and which races are rare and not native to the area. The same goes for classes: Humans, dwarves and gnomes are common...

Covers Preview for Elemental Evil Adventurer's Handbook and Princes of the Apocalypse!

Isn't that a good thing? It would be in our advantage if WotC made a profit and D&D 5e was a financial success.

    D&D 5E (2014) predictions for D&D in 2015

In 4e Heroes of the Elemental Chaos, there was also a Janassary character theme. I could certainly see it returning as a kit or subclass of some kind.

    D&D 5E (2014) predictions for D&D in 2015

I actually don't think it is likely they'll release a Manual of the Planes, at least not so soon after the launch of 5e. The DMG already had a lot of information on the planes and traveling the planes usually only happens with higher level player characters and until now the focus of the...

    D&D 5E (2014) predictions for D&D in 2015

Other posters have already made good predictions. I'd like to add to that, that I do not think we'll likely see a lot of physical published material outside of the already semi-confirmed adventure paths and player options to go with them, I'm afraid. I too expect a good OGL and I do expect the...

D&D 5E (2014) What Would You Play With These Stats?

These stats would allow you to create a quite decent MAD character, so this would be a nice opportunity to play such a character. Maybe a paladin as was mentioned before or an Eldritch Knight type character. Any character with a difficult to pull off character concept because of MAD really.

    D&D 5E (2014) Running Eberron in 5E

I think a sub-class of wizard could work for the artificer, but it would need a lot more 'changes' than the other sub-classes have; different tool proficiencies, armor, as well abilities that create the feel of the artificer and remind of infusions. It is not difficult to recreate the 'feel' of...

D&D 5E (2014) What would you like to see in a "revised edition" of 5E?

I agree with this. D&D 5e is in essence what D&D has always been and should always be. The game is good as it. Sure, when more people have played it, they will be come aware of problems and think of ways to solve it. But it is a game. There will always be problems with balance and different...

    D&D 5E (2014) Riddle Me This

I've used real life wooden puzzles and small chess-like problems in games before that the players had to solve to open chests or magic doors and such. Usually it was quite fun, as long as it is relatively easy to solve. The problem I faced was that sometimes players just don't see a solution...

D&D 5E (2014) The optional Sanity & Madness rules (DMG) for a horror game

So, I just bought the 5e Dungeon Master's Guide and I love it. I'm was currently working on a future campaign, inspired mostly by Ravenloft and with a lot of Call of Cthulhu themes, so you can imagine I was quite excited about the idea of Sanity rules. However, although I really like the idea of...
