Character Narratives Preview from PRIMEVAL THULE

Way too much effort. I forgot that about the Battlemaster though, since it hasn't come up yet.

Character Narratives Preview from PRIMEVAL THULE

Don't some folks roll initiative every round though?

Character Narratives Preview from PRIMEVAL THULE

It might be a bit problematic to assume 5E folk are familiar with 4E terminology. Whereas, I did read the 4E rules many years ago, I no longer have them for reference. However, it's good to know what experience you're after, even though you need to 'tip toe' around terminology.

Character Narratives Preview from PRIMEVAL THULE

The extra abilities are flavorful, but I think 5E characters are powerful enough as is. The per encounter abilities are definitely not 5E, more 4E really.

New D&D Movie To Go Ahead - Produced By Lego Movie's Roy Lee

I agree that using that silly plot from the cartoons is the worst idea I've heard in a long time. In fact, it's so bad that I wouldn't be surprised if they used it, when considering the previous movies. They should steer away from anything that would continue D&D movies being the laughing stock...

    D&D 5E (2014) Twinned Elemental Affinity

It's effectively the same spell. So, the same 'to-hit' roll, damage roll, etc. If Elemental Affinity applied to it initially, both targets would take the extra damage. I can't imagine it functioning any other way, at the moment anyway.

D&D 5E (2014) So what happened at GenCon with relation to 5th edition?

How does this work? Do folks pay $150 to play? Or maybe it's $150 for a group.

New D&D Movie To Go Ahead - Produced By Lego Movie's Roy Lee

Well, look on the bright side, I can't imagine it being worse than the previous movies. They set the bar pretty low, rather painful to watch really.

D&D 5E (2014) Ravenloft in 5e: What would you like to see?

I don't think treating Ravenloft as a setting precludes its use as a 'weekend in hell' adventure. Due to the compartmentalized nature of the domains, be they islands of terror or core domains with closed borders, I think either would work. What do I think we'll get? Probably an adventure that...

D&D 5E (2014) Rage of Demons more details.

I've got boxes of silly D&D adventures, I'm not sure what anyone expects really.

[UPDATED AGAIN!] SOUTHLANDS HEROES - New Character Options for D&D From The Folks Who Made TYRANNY O

Maybe, for the PDF people. I must have a real book in my hands.

A Small Gen Con Photo Gallery!

Dragon Age doesn't look centered either. Perhaps it's the new cool thing that all the kids like.

D&D 5E (2014) Spell Preparation: Leaving Slots Open

Wouldn't this grant the Wizard's superior Ritual Casting to other classes? If that caster could access all the spells of any particular level they can cast, it would seem a substantial power up to those classes. Sure, they'd need to prepare it first, then cast it as a ritual, but it'd certainly...

    D&D 5E (2014) Wizard Spell Selection

Second level spells seem kinda disappointing to me overall, but then again, they're better than other classes 2nd level spells, with a few exceptions. 1. Mirror Image: Don't overlook this one, it's not concentration and is one of the your best spells, unless there's some way for your attacker...

New Sage Advice: Class Features, Combat, Spells, & Monsters

Given that Call Woodland Beings and Conjure Animals having a casting time of 1 Action, I'd happily settle for whatever the DM was willing to give me. That's awesome, I don't even use the other summonings, they take an entire minute to cast.

    D&D 5E (2014) Is "Mystic" a bad class name?

Obviously, it should have been Psionicist.

Sword Coast Legends: Campaign Creation Tools

Amazing, I can create random dungeons! Wait, I don't want to make random dungeons. The decision to make random dungeons the default and only means of creation is hilarious. Reducing D&D to its most basic element is hardly a means to 'grow the brand'.

D&D 5E (2014) Why do wizards STILL have to use daggers, etc.?

I'd suggest using Shocking Grasp or one of the cantrips that call for saving throws, as opposed to attack rolls, if you're worried about attacking at disadvantage with a cantrip in melee range. You'll probably find that cantrips suck a bit before level 5, if you have enough dexterity to attack...
