D&D General Solasta: Crown of the Magister D&D Video Game Coming To Kickstarter

Yes Morrus I'm aware we can all read it online or in the back of thousands of products many of us own. If it's applicable though, why has no one done it in the last almost-20 years do you think? We've been through multiple versions of the game and multiple D&D and D&D type videogames, but no one...

D&D General Solasta: Crown of the Magister D&D Video Game Coming To Kickstarter

Well it should be interesting as I am fairly sure the OGL does not apply to video games. WOTC/Hasbro licenses those out separately and specifically so while I get the appeal in trying to tie it in to 5E I think it's some fairly shaky ground.

Stargate RPG Powered By 5E Announced from Wyvern Gaming

Mechanics issues aside, I'm a little surprised we're seeing a new company publish a tabletop RPG based on a license that's been dormant for 10 years. I haven't seen a big outcry for it online and it's not like there was a long string of successful predecessors that had established it as a...

TSR The Making and Breaking of Deities & Demigods

Well, you're about 40 years too late so ... good luck with that. "Broad strokes" and all seems to work in comics and movies and that's right about the level where RPG's tie in. Hey they didn't have to come from a junk shop - you could get those at K-Mart, which is where I got mine well before...

Goodman Games' Next Reincarnation Is Expedition To The Barrier Peaks

Well Against the Giants is in Tales from the Yawning Portal so either your wait is over or I wouldn't hold my breath, depending on how you want to roll with that:D I've run B2 myself, starting before the book was out and then working it in during the run. If you have the original adventures and...

Big Changes in ICv2's RPG Industry Charts, as Pathfinder Drops Off Before 2E's Release!

Yes, RPG's get new editions - they've been getting new editions since the early 80's. If you were around for 2E this shouldn't surprise you but it almost sounds like you're angry about it. Pathfinder is getting it's first new edition in literally ten years. Champions went through 4 in its first...

What's Inside Goodman Games' Isle Of Dread Reincarnated?

Really looking forward to this one - loved this module and loved their big Into the Borderlands book.

    "DnDSports": Competitive Play With Prizes

I see someone is really going to try to force this square peg of cooperative tabletop gaming into the round hole of e-sports. Even my college/HS aged kids are wondering what the point of this is.

News Digest: Pathfinder Playtest Update, More Hints of Spelljammer, D&D Design Theory Discussed, and

I used to feel the same way, especially back when Pathfinder 1st edition did the same thing. After that it's really not a surprise to see it for their second edition but this time you can buy special faux-leather cover editions as well as the normal version. There is a PDF available so there are...

D&D's Going To The Barrier Peaks

Yes, I mean like Tomb of Horrors, White Plume Mountain, Steading of the Hill Giant Chief, Glacial Rift of the Frost Giant Jarl, Hall of the Fire Giant King, Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan, and several others. You know, many of the foundational adventures of the game? As published, they don't...

D&D's Going To The Barrier Peaks

Oh please, it wasn't a "failed attempt" at anything - Gamma World had already been out for years by the time this was published. This was a publication of a well-received tournament module, like many of the early adventures.

    D&D = American + European Fantasy

I think it's more subtle than that - GRRM has been running RPG's since the late 70's I believe, from fantasy to superheroes. That's where the Wild Cards books originated - in his home supers campaign that included several other writers. Since GoT came along much later I would assume there was...

Gail Gygax Sued By Movie Producer

D&D actually has two current MMORPGs as well - Neverwinter and Dungeons and Dragons Online, in addition to ongoing updates of the classics Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Planescape, and their sequels. It's cool if you're not into them but they've been a successful thing for 20 or so years now just...

Plight of the New RPG: Shattered Dawn - Part 1

"This article was contributed by Lewis Pulsipher (lewpuls) as part of ENWorld's User-Generated Content (UGC) program. " It's clearly user-generated but I'm still looking for the content. Title does not match content. What's the point of this article? What's the conclusion? This is the opening...

Where to Place in the Forgotten Realms?

I ran Red Hand of Doom in 4E and placed it in Impiltur. It's not an exact geographic fit but the whole thing is in a small enough area it's really not that critical.
