I played Tri-Stat. It's a fun game beer-and-pretzels game to me, something to run a one-shot every now and then, but nothing to do a campaign with. That's me though. I'm sure that others really like it for campaign play. For the d20 version, I can't tell you, I never bought the book.

To the OP, I would say virtually never. My players are not really into developing relationships or even remotely interested in rp'ing carousing, so we don't get into it. Nobody goes into brothels, nobody rp's hitting on the barmaid, everyone is single, unmarried, and have no sexual orientation...

Elegance is going to be what you think it is. I think Pathfinder is elegant and I know I'm going to get disagreement on it, but that's how it is.

I combined the mutation rules from Tome of Corruption (WHRP 2e) with my Pathfinder game. It worked pretty good as I just had to make a few conversions on penalties and saving throws, but overall the tables worked just fine.

Actually, I think that would be interesting, particularly if FFG handles the production values. While I like FFG's weird dice and am currently reading WHRP 3e, I think Pathfinder Boardgame should be as close to the rpg as possible.
