    D&D 5E (2014) SRD5 - A Clone of Part of D&D 5E Basic

You also don't make friends with salad. :p

D&D 5E (2014) Three cheers for Mearls and Co.!

Great job everyone on the D&D team! I'm really enjoying the system so far (starting running a game about month ago). Rules wise, it's kinda like a sweet spot for me. A good place between Castles & Crusades and 3.5/Pathfinder. Thanks again for listening to us, altering rules to make us happy...

    D&D 5E (2014) SRD5 - A Clone of Part of D&D 5E Basic

I'm just glad it ended before any trouble could come of it. Artificer: Your heart seems to be in the right place, and I'm sorry if the response isn't what you hoped, but thank you for listening to the people here and taking their advice to pull the site. I've dealt with enough affiliates and...

D&D 5E (2014) 5e is dead to me! Almost, TWF issue..

I think needing a feat to use TWF with one weapon that's not light works fine. Provided it's still in the PH in August. Also, Falling Icicle's house rule looks good too.

    D&D 5E (2014) Humorous disclaimer in D&D Basic

The prose and tone of the basic rulebook is a lot less dry then the 4e ones, and even the 3e ones. The whole book is very readable and enjoyable. I hope the core rulebooks are written the in the same style.

    D&D 5E (2014) The Multiverse is back....

I think there's a bigger reason for the multiverse then just 2e nostalgia or finding a way to bring all campaigns together. Brand Identity - Just like the references to Ravenloft, Forgotten Realms, Greyhawk and Dragonlance in the Basic Rulebook. The quotes from the novels as well. Everything is...

D&D 5E (2014) Changes from the playtest: Combat

Yeah, it looks like the Equipment Chapter is the only one that is taken from the PH in it's entirety. http://www.wizards.com/DND/Article.aspx?x=dnd/4ll/20140630 So some combat options missing doesn't surprise me.

D&D 5E (2014) WotC will not allow translation of D&D NEXT.

Good to know Pathfinder is doing well over there and has decent translations. I wish we could get more English translations of Aventuria over here, I really like the setting from what I've read about it in one of the few English translated DSA books. As well as from playing the Drakhensang...

D&D 5E (2014) WotC will not allow translation of D&D NEXT.

It's the best selling RPG in Germany, that's it though.

D&D 5E (2014) What D&D should learn from a Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones)

Well when I'm talking real world, I mean hard drugs, theft (especially white collar where people often plan this out and do it over time. Heck one of the smartest people I knew ended up embezzling half a million dollars from his work despite knowing the risks. He did this for a period of over...

D&D 5E (2014) What D&D should learn from a Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones)

Depends on what rewards they get immediately. People do a lot of things in the real world that have immediate gain, but long term negative effects. There's also the issue with people often thinking they're special and can sidestep these negative effects.

    D&D 5E (2014) The cost of D&D 5E (it ain't so bad!)

Except costs to develop the rulebooks are not the same for Paizo and WoTC. Paizo re-used a lot of art assets from their adventure paths in the Core Rulebook, helping to bring costs down. They also spent a lot less money/time "developing" Pathfinder than WoTC has spent on creating 5e from the...

D&D 5E (2014) The new Dungeons & Dragons Starter Set - and online tools?

I might add, that I as an advocate of the D&D game being made as accessible as possible to regular and casual gamers rather than just marketing to the hardcore fans am very excited about. Casual almost certainly means something usable (or at least accessible) from a smart phone. If you have a...

D&D 5E (2014) Dreams of the Red Wizards: Dead in Thay (spoilers allowed)

No they don't have to explore every room. And it says if you're running it for a group at home, feel free to adjust the rate at which the player's gain levels. 25 rooms per level is a suggestion.

D&D 5E (2014) Better pics from PAX East

I like the maggot like skin color of this one. And the little legs are very caterpillar like.

D&D 5E (2014) Tyranny of Dragons Panel at PAX East Today

I like that the carrion crawler looks more like the older Basic/1e/2e version (with a little bit of 3e & 4e mixed in). Really disliked the green worm design that looked like it escaped from a Jim Henson production.

D&D 5E (2014) Tyranny of Dragons Panel at PAX East Today

If this end up being correct, I couldn't be more happy. Much rather they miss their deadline than push D&D 5e out the door on time no matter the cost in quality.

[Article] Wandering Monsters - Wandering Deities and Demigods ;)

I don't think it's a lack of things to talk about, as much as there being a lack of time to write really involved articles. D&D 5e is after all, mere months away.

D&D 5E (2014) Thoughts on Dreams of the Red Wizards: Scourge of the Sword Coast

Haven't got much of a chance to read it yet. So far it looks good, seems that they're still experimenting with the look of D&D Next. The art and maps are nice. Will read more fully later. I don't personally find the layout hard to read, but I see how others could. Hopefully they'll do as you...

D&D 5E (2014) Next D&D Next Adventure Scourge of Sword Coast will be PDF Only

Actually I was wrong about 3 to be sold in stores. They never said they would publish 3 of the five, only 2 of them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=r2LE5w4ZO_k#t=2966 Unless you can point to where they stated all five would be on the shelf products. This is just a...
