D&D 5E (2014) Next D&D Next Adventure Scourge of Sword Coast will be PDF Only

You do realize this isn't the third and final adventure for the Sundering Trilogy right? It's an encounters adventure that is part of the Sundering storyline, but not an actual product that was ever meant to be sold on shelves. Much like Vault of the Dracolich.

Bruce Heard + Mystara + Kickstarter [Hypothetical + Cross Post]

The Gazetteers are hands down, some of the best region supplements I've ever owned. Can't wait for them to come out on pdf (again).

D&D 5E (2014) Exclusive D&D Next Campaign available at Gen Con Only

I actually love the fact that the book uses art from all previous editions of D&D in addition to new 5e concept art.

    And in 2014?

If you want something to sell well, especially if it's expensive, you don't release it in January.

Would Paizo Make a Better Steward for Our Hobby?

At this point I don't think any current company is an ideal Steward of D&D. They're all too small and too narrowly focused on their favored edition to represent the breadth and width of all editions of D&D, it's retro-clones and the fans.

Pathfinder 1E Current Pathfinder Players: Are you considering switching over to D&D 5E?

Will see how it goes. Already play 1e and Pathfinder... and a game where I could ratchet complexity up or down via modules would be great. If Wizards manages to make it work well. Would I stay with it? Who knows. I may move back to Castles & Crusades Or go to Dungeon World from Pathfinder...

D&D 5E (2014) Signs & Portents (that we can read into) about the ETA of 5E

I don't think anyone is claiming the 40th Anniversary will dominate the news or bring in a ton of new people. But it will give D&D more visibility and mind share then it's had in years. Especially when table-top RPGs currently have near zero visibility with the general public in recent years. It...

D&D 5E (2014) Signs & Portents (that we can read into) about the ETA of 5E

Pretty much set for 2014 unless something disastrous happens. As Canuck pointed out - the 40th anniversary is next year. Its mind share during the next year among ex-gamers and non gamers should be higher than it has been at any point in the last decade. And that'll be just from free advertising...

D&D 5E (2014) Final playtest packet due in mid September.

It's a travesty because the skills rules module wasn't in it? It's not like it's a core part of the game. They have some fine tuning to do on the math before releasing the skills module in the next packet, it's not like it's been forever replaced.

D&D 5E (2014) Final playtest packet due in mid September.

Given all the wizard schools that they still need to put in the PHB, it makes sense that sorcerers and warlocks won't be in the first book.

D&D 5E (2014) 02/08/13 New playtest packet to released today. [Udate: PACKAGE OUT!][

Since did magic using creatures have metagame knowledge on saving throws and abilities that effect them? Or when have they actually done dice simulations on them?

D&D 5E (2014) June 27 Q&A: Modular Features, Paladin Alignment and Legendary Creatures

It may be better if they just tie the Paladin to a type of Deity as opposed to an alignment. Much like the Cleric. A Paladin of nature deities would be a Warden, those of Livegivers/Lightbringers may resemble the standard paladin, etc... After all, a LG god of peace and a god of justice...

D&D 5E (2014) Vault of the Dracolich - Game Day report

Played this on Saturday. We only had two tables, with six players and a DM at each. It was a fun and unique experience, especially hearing updates on the progress of the other group, as well as running from what we thought was a (real) Dracolich, into a magical gate to escape, only to find him...

Pathfinder 1E Post here if you're a PATHFINDER RPG fan!

I am. Bought quite a few of their books, also, they're a good bunch of people. Though I would also say I'm a D&D fan, Hackmaster Fan and OSR fan in general.

D&D 5E (2014) Should the next edition of D&D promote more equality?

I would say that's unbelievable, but considering the attitudes I've personally encountered in the video game industry, it's sadly not surprising.

D&D 5E (2014) Should the next edition of D&D promote more equality?

Agreed. I don’t think the amount of half dressed women still running around today’s rpg books can be understated. Even Paizo, who is considered something of a high water mark in this industry for gender and LGBT equality, still has serious issues with their art. Take a look at the NPC Codex*...

    D&D 5E (2014) Dragon's-Eye View: Concepts in Art

I would actually like to see more of Ben Wootten in D&D Next. The ranger picture below is what I would prefer D&D Next's art to look like. Actual backgrounds, stylish, yet more realistic then a majority of D&D 3e-4e and Pathfinder's art. (The pic below is actually from 4e essentials) I have...

    D&D 5E (2014) DDN Concept Art

I must be missing what the big deal is. These were done several months ago and they've already said things like proportions (feet legs and such )would change, as it was just the style they were going with at the time. They've also said for final art in the rule-books they want it to be more...

What is your opinion of PDFS?

Same here, love PDFs. I prefer my iPad for reading rather than using physical books. I have no issue with buying them, and in fact I'm starting to buy pdf's almost exclusively. There are exceptions of course, and books like the Hacklopedia of Beasts are too beautiful to not have a physical copy...
