AED (Rokugani) Ninja will help you fill that with full BAB. It's technically 3rd party but the AED corporation was the source of all the Rokugan material in OA. If that doesn't work, just go assassin.

Slight quibble: wouldn't 3 levels of Spellsword give you the same 2/3 casting and better HD than 3 levels of EK? IIRC the first dead level gives you a bonus feat, the same as EK . . .

That is radically different from how I've seen it adjudicated. If you only gain SLAs at application (i.e. at birth) and no class HD count, then PCs would never be able to use any of the neat SLAs that came with those templates . . . and the SLAs are as often as not the entire reason for taking...

I can understand the motive, but I'm pointing out that mechanically it won't work unless your DM is willing to look the other way. Going from what you posted, you have to be able to benefit from flanking for that feat to trigger, and doing so violates your Knight's Oath.

Interesting. I use ECL *5 as an AC to shoot for, but that's only really valid at level 8+. Remember, Knights cannot in any way benefit from flanking (though they can allow allies to benefit.)

I also strongly recommend Crusader. The paladin's save bonuses are superior, but the Crusader is better at trading blows.
