Dodge feat: can I take it multiple times?

A player? Nope, I'm DM. But if a fighter wants to burn 5 feats for a +5 against one opponent what's the harm? Is it any worse them some of the other things out there? Add a sword parry feat that gives you +1 AC to one opponent when you're wielding a sword or something. I don't think there...

Dodge feat: can I take it multiple times?

I think 5 feats is enough of a penalty.

How many orcs to defeat a fighter type?

Trip him. That's +4 to attack. That's pretty much the easiest mob tactic and it doesn't provoke an AO. Easier if you use a weapon you can drop instead of be disarmed yourself. Does the fighter have cleave?

+2 or +1 and Keen Rapier at 8th lvl?

That's one way of wording it! I prefer to say that I put interesting encounters into a module! If they go off and spend their loot on +1 flaming weapons I'm not going to say "The next module is Earth Elemental cave!! hahahaah" But there might just be one of the encounters like that in there...

+2 or +1 and Keen Rapier at 8th lvl?

As a DM if my players have +2 weapons I might not look for a Dr X/+2 creature to put against them. But if they all have +1 flaming weapons I'll be looking for that CR7 Earth elem with DR /+2 to show them their errors! :) My favorite is a spell storing weapon.

Disable device and contact poison trap.

Okay, sounds reasonable. Since I don't make my players pay 500gp and roll a craft poison when they want to smear contact poison on their doorknob I won't make a roll to disable either. But if it's something where they need skill in applying it then they need skill in disarming it too.

    Multiclassed spellcasters.

    Okay, a Wiz5/Sor5 casting fireball 5d6 or 10d6? What about a Wiz5/Clr5 casting dispel? +10 or +5? Wiz5/Clr5 trying to bypass SR? +10 or +5?

Disable device and contact poison trap.

Okay, I used a contact poison trap from song and silence. It was just contact poison smeared on a doorknob. The PC spotted it and I asked him to roll disable device because it listed it as DC20 in the book. I didn't think anything of it, but he challenged me on that. All you have to do is...

    Crafting times...

A mage with the fabricate spell can do it in a few minutes... :) A smith it would be about a week or so I'd guess. If the PC's haul in that big load of loot and want to get 4 masterwork longswords for the party is it really nice to make them wait a month? Probably not, I don't get picky over...

    Playing Dead.

I'm inclined to rule in favor of PC's for doing something. And if there are 4 other PC's who aren't playing dead and are very much alive it's definately believable which adds to the bluff skill. If he's doing in while being investigated that's one thing, but doing it after getting bashed with...

    A goblins dying breath.

I still remember Galgratch the Destroyer!! A pure monster manual Gnoll out of a group of 10 that happened to knock 5 of the 6 party members to negatives. He didn't have a name until he fled and never showed up again, but it still sucks that he fled.

    A goblins dying breath.

Mechanics wise he could have. But in this case there was a pit in the way of a direct route out so he needed a double move to move around it. Ftr4 was coming out of hold in 1 round, adept8 coming out of ghouls touch in 2 rounds and everyone below 15 hp. If the goblin fled they wouldn't have...

    Playing Dead.

I'd still give them some sort of a check. Even at a +10 bonus to bluff.

[Magic Item] Thumb Ring of Might

Make the prereq of a caster with 20str and it's a bit more rare. If it were just "max str bonus on the weapon" I'd make it 3000gp or so. If they actually want to make it as a 5 str bonus I'd make it maybe 12,000 or so.

    Playing Dead.

What kind of DC is playing dead during combat? I assume bluff vs sense motive right? Or maybe spot? Or a straight DC20 or somesuch? A couple months ago we were in the temple of EE and fighting some stone giants while in the anti-magic field from a beholder. They were each taking two...

    A goblins dying breath.

In this case tumbling while doing a double move is what he attempted. I rolled a 4 and failed the tumble check and died. The case has come up numerous times before with non-rogues and I didn't know how most people played the NPC's. Go for survival, no matter how slim the chance? You're...

    A goblins dying breath.

Okay, yesterday we had a fight involving a few elite goblins (war2 to adp8) and in the end of the battle there was a 3rd level rogue left with 5 PC's. 4 of the PC's were next to the rogue in various spots. Any route he fled by would provoke at least 2 AO's on a double move, 4 on a full run...

I can't remember the name of a PrC.

I hate PrC's in Dragon because I don't want to pay $7 a month for a couple crappy Tarresque worshipping PrC's that I'll never need only to find 1 or 2 decent PrC's every couple months.

    The Eldric Master.

Well, if a sorceror starts taking it at level 5 by level 15 he'll still only be casting 5th level spells instead of the 8th level spells a wizard would have. The balance is different depending on when you start taking it. If you don't take EM until level 10 it's different then if you start at...
