Planescape Planescape IS D&D Says Jeremy Crawford

Planescape hadan annoyingly condescending attitude to certain settings is this going to be carried over (wait, it already has).

D&D General Dave Arneson: Is He Underrated, or Overrated?

D&D 5E (2014) Planescape shows up in the wild. Tease from Chris Perkins.

Has it though, I look at all the D&DBeyond characters who are never used in a campaign, the online theory-crafting and elaborate backgrounds, the campaign settings carefully crafted and wonder....how much of these people are playing, as opposed to, I guess, "playing at playing."

That’s certainly much closer to the feel of what it used to be and less Spiderwicky.

D&D 5E (2014) Are "evil gods" necessary? [THREAD NECRO]

D&D really is terrible on religion. It gets polytheism completely wrong, ignores most monotheisms and really misunderstands why people worship.

D&D 5E (2014) Are "evil gods" necessary? [THREAD NECRO]

The Greeks hated Ares and thought of him as a thug (and enjoyed stories that made him look like an idiot and a cuckold). However the Romans genuinely loved Mars. He was as close as possible to a state god, especially in the early days. However I think Mars was more a patron of glorious conquest...
