The had a monster book late in their run that wasn't that bad. And there's some neat stuff buried in their treasure maps books, but mostly in terms of concepts; I wouldn't use most of the stats as written.
Indeed.
It's like a Setting Villain Sourcebook, describing what the major player are, their allies and plans. If you are robbing stats, it's not that great a sourcbook. But if you are actually going to RUN the game, I consider it indispensable.
My character sheets are nearing completion for the pregens. If you are interested in looking at the summary sheets ahead of time, I can probably post them by tomorrow night.
Unless we get more players, it's probably going to be best if we stick to the "core characters" set below, and that...
The only sig that vexes me is someone pimping their take on a 4e Psion. It complicates searching my threads via Google when ENWorld search is acting up.
I do dig other people that put their Laws' quiz results in their sig. :)
Cantina as a element meant to highlight the cosmopolitan nature of a setting like Planescapes' Sigil? Absolutely.
Cantina as implicit element of the D&D metasetting? Thumbs down. This is the one thing that vexed me about setting stuff in 3e, where they would write up city setting, and throw...
I wouldn't dismiss more signups occurring this week. There are two or three regulars who are conspicuously absent, and I have yet to run FC at a game day where I didn't have a last minute drop-in.
Anyways, if it does end up being two, I should still be able to run it, though I may have to limit...
There is now a free spot in this game.
In other news, I have a batch of characters brewing. They still need names, and I have a few more I want to throw in the mix, but so far I have:
Milaena - Captain of the ship with a shady past (Female human - ruthless corsair - Captain / Soldier /...
Necessary? No.
But considering how well the True20 toughness save system went over with me (which is to say: not well), I'd have to say if you are going to put something else in, you'd best make sure its worth the trade off.
Sure, but that's a bit of difference of perspective in and of itself. Fewer English speakers speak second languages and we appropriate foreign words as-is, so the perception is a bit different.
I think doppleganger is a cool name for a creature when untranslated, but I think "double goer" would...
Yup.
I did conversions of parts of Undermountain and Return to the Tomb of Horrors.
Undermountain was a minor deal. Fortunately, I found I could tweak most encounters pretty easily by adding class levels.
Tome of Horrors was a bigger deal. Above CR 10 or so, there's WIDE variation between the...
*coff*
;)
I can also recommend Mythic Vistas: Trojan War and Relics & Rituals: Olympus. R&R Olympus didn't QUITE blow me away to the level that Relics & Rituals: Excalibur did, but it's still pretty good. Except the art (they use Leif Jones a lot, whose style I find repellent.)
Technically, perhaps, but I rather think you are splitting hairs. Most people bringing this up really mean PFRPG. Which, as it is their flagship product, is not unreasonable.
