Dex stat modifier- does it add to your Initiative ?

There are even some "if-I-had-written-the-index-this-is-what-I-would've-included" files floating around out there that would lead to answers for which you have questions.

does the MM include PC race choices?

Sure, I guess, with the further proviso that "guidelines", "version", "within reason" and 'the powers are monster powers, not PC powers' actually mean something. You can't throw all those words out of that paragraph as meaningless or semantics.

does the MM include PC race choices?

It's quite clear that MM races are only available for use by PCs in a campaign with the permission of that campaign's DM. "A player should only use one of the following races to create a character with the permission of the Dungeon Master." Some DMs may allow some or all MM races for their PCs...

does the MM include PC race choices?

The Character Builder will use the latest rules from sources that WotC publishes, updated monthly (more or less). The current beta version was released before the Dragon article on Minotaurs came out. The final version of the Character Builder will include the Dragon article version. All of...

Do the Infernal Pact Temp. HP stack?

Bingo - we have a winner.

Crit modification level 12 and lower?

If you allow the FRPG, divine worshippers of Tempus can crit if they hit at 1st level once per encounter. It gets ugly when the maul paladin uses a 3[w] daily...

    Party of four or five?

For a party of 4, I think one of each role works well, although losing the Wizard for another defender or striker is probably okay. For 5, again, one of each role is good and then the 5th could be a defender, striker or leader (in that order) without much probem. I probably wouldn't make a...

What 4e products have you purchased?

Everything from WotC, except the dice.

    Commander's Strike clarified: Ask Wizards

Maybe I missed something in another thread but why would the Warlord's weapon abilities or feats effect the damage? It looks like it does Warlord's Int mod to ally's basic damage -- and that's it. What am I missing?

Why hate onthe drow? (Forked Thread: How is FR changing with 4E?)

It's funny about tastes. It has been a while but I couldn't get through a book-and-a-half of the Tapestry series and haven't given Kay the time of day since. But to others he is wonderful. And to yet others he says nothing important, like the above. Interesting, is all. My wife doesn't like...

    Immediate actions: too complex?

You're right but it still counts as the immediate action they're allowed for the round. I'm pretty sure everyone understand at this point, though.

    Great Weapon Fighter - underpowered??

As Cadfan mentions, great weapon fighters (even using a greatsword) are fine. As long as you pick reasonable feats and don't hamper yourself with Str 10 or something you should be able to perform your role with minimal adjustments from the DM. Same goes for most classes and combos -- as long...

DMG Intro Adventure - Big Spoiler!

I imagine he means "flew up to land right in front of the party." I think this can even happen during a surprise round if you haven't perceived the dragon is there (or maybe that was just my DM?). At any rate, it looks like it was first in initiative and did it's breath and fright abilities...

Very annoyed with the Quest XPs in KotS

From what I understand (and I haven't read the whole DMG yet) Quest XP is expected reasonably often. And they come generally in small "encounter typical-sized" chunks. The ones for KotS are the only Quest XP awards you get so I can see why they are bigger (keeping in mind the plot hooks make...

    They Killed Alignment

Near as I can tell, E=LE and G=CG. For the amount of time alignment will matter in my game the new system works well enough for me.

    Only 3 players

Thanks for the advice. I haven't read over the DMG yet but it sure sounds relatively easy to figure out. So far a couple people are thinking about playing a cleric (he always does) and a Dragonborn Ranger. The third would need to be a defender, I'd think (maybe a must for any group under 5 or...

    Windsor ON - D&D 4th LFP

I'm looking to start a 4th edition D&D campaign and need a couple more players. We play Sunday afternoons 1 or 2 times per month at my house in Windsor's east side. I've got lots of minis and maps and even dice -- just need players, hopefully with a new Player's Handbook but not necessary. We...

    Only 3 players

I'm trying to find more players but right now I've only got 3 for a brand new 4th edition D&D campaign. We've wrapped up our 3.5 campaign where 2 players ran 2 characters while 1 player just ran 1. I want this campaign to have a bit more roleplaying so just want everyone to have 1 character...

    3 Character Flanking

Having the 3 characters attack/shift or shift/attack will give them combat advantage while keeping the flanking rules reasonably simple. However, the idea that granting combat advantage to all melee attacks as long as any two are flanking isn't that bad.
