Will there ever be another Marvel or DC superhero RPG?

Wow- no sooner do I speak it, than the portents come to the fore! Is Marvel Universe Online Dead? Let's see, for my next act... *wishes for a million dollars, wishes for a million dollars*

    Ptolus: The Legend of Longcoat

Garn's avariciousness seems lost on Vanden. "The important thing here is that we should investigate further- now that Longcoat is gone, anyone could stumble into those sewers and release the Water Queen, and that could be disaster for all of Ptolus."

Will there ever be another Marvel or DC superhero RPG?

Just Cryptic. Cryptic recently sold the entirety of their share of the rights to City of Heroes/Villains to NCSoft. (Presumably, Cryptic didn't want to split their interest between two similar games). Jack Emmert, the guy who is fundamentally behind CoX, is still with Cryptic, but most of the...

    Eric Noah's Black Pages?

Along with divination powers, how about some kind of powers of truth compulsion or something (reflective of how people were anonymously providing snippets of information about 3E)?

    [Trailer] The Mist

I haven't read the book, but my impression from watching the trailer is that the movie itself might be better if it didn't show any monsters. The horror of what may or may not lurk in the Mist itself is what really grabbed me- once I saw the monsters I was like, eh.

    Adventure Idol: Dungeon's New Competition

When I first read the title of this thread, I thought there was a new print D&D magazine coming out. :p

    Eric Noah's Black Pages?

The Black Pages of Erich-Noaa. Sounds like something from Call of Cthulhu. :)

    Eric Noah's Black Pages?

Hey, thanks. I thought I'd seen them not long ago myself (couldn't have been more than a couple of months), so I was beginning to think I'd imagined things. :uhoh:

    Eric Noah's Black Pages?

Am I mistaken, or weren't these still accessible here at ENWorld at one point? I was feeling nostalgic for the pre-3E days recently, and wanted to take a look at them.

    Adventure Idol: Dungeon's New Competition

That's a pretty bad typo. I'm wondering whether it was the author's or on the part of whoever put the article together on the website. I agree that having it be a decedent mansion owner would be more interesting (and put a different spin on the adventure). Of the three, I went with the Salvage...

    D&D 4E 4E Playtesting

Maybe this is what the recent Congressional Appropriations controversy is really about? :p

4th Edition, Kindle & The Future of Gaming Books

I really like these sorts of devices (Kindle, Sony Digital Reader, I-Rex, etc.), but they are still too expensive, IMO, to justify the purchase price. It's taking an awful long time for their prices to drop much, either, it seems. Hopefully this latest offering will put the EReader market into...

    Classic D&D Canon in Xen'drik

I don't recall too many specifics about the GDQ series (something about the Drow manipulating the Giants to war against humans, wasn't it?), but it seems to me, given the relationship between Giants and Drow in Xen'drik that it wouldn't require too much work to change around. Obviously when you...

    D&D 4E 4E Playtesting

One other thing that just occurred to me- at the advent of 3E, WotC hadn't yet been purchased by Hasbro (at least, not IIRC). Being under the auspices of that industry giant might have something to do with the seemingly stricter NDA this time around.

    D&D 4E 4E Playtesting

While I don't really know what Morrus' relationship is with WotC these days (and certainly, ENWorld is much more than just the fansite it was when Eric started it up), but little leaked and anonymous snippets of info from playtesters was one of the big things back in the days of pre-3E, and it...

    Writers strike is a go

Of course it is additional revenue. If the studios had not opted to go into the home video system as it came about, there would be no market for it- ie, there would only be the box office market. Yo, yo, Mr. Kotter! It's like, so weird that you're gettin' personal. It's not as if the home...

    Writers strike is a go

The studio system was making plenty in the way of profit off of mere theatrical release alone well up until the home-video market exploded in the 70s/80s. Just because ancillary markets have come along to demonstrate there are additional revenue streams doesn't mean that the theatrical release...

    Writers strike is a go

While I will agree that this may often be the case, it doesn't seem to apply this time around. From everything I've read and heard, the WGA members are all pretty well in synch on this one. It's one of the things that is markedly different from the last time they struck, in '88, in fact (where...

    Name that movie!

That sounds like it. Been a long time since I saw it (probably 1983 or 1984), but the scene you describe sounds familiar.
