D&D 4E The 4e Mystery Race is going to be...

He may have been scoffing at the claim that there are a "frighteningly large number of people" who believe it. Then again, IMO if even one person believes it, that's a frighteningly large figure. :)

historical references for "points of light"?

There are still large swaths of the US that could almost fall into this POL categorization as is- I'm thinking particularly of states like Montana, Nebraska- regions of large swaths of very lightly populated areas, with only a few major cities far removed from them. Heck, even here in Cali I'm...

historical references for "points of light"?

I'd also suggest much of Eastern Europe during the declining years of the Ottoman Empire in the 17th/18th centuries could easily fall into this category (particularly the Balkan states).

    One new setting a year?

On the one hand, a Mystara release might be enough to get me really jazzed about 4E; on the other hand, I'm not sure there's anyone working for (or even freelancing for) WotC at the moment who I think would do a good job with it.

D&D 4E Lack of interst in posting since 4e announcement?

Just out of curiosity (and OT), but what dungeons are in that one? I'm just curious if any of the "classic" B, X, CM, or M series got included in any way (like the Caves of Chaos or something). Can't seem to find any decent reviews anywhere, and WotC didn't even post a zipped Table of Contents...

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder 3: The Hook Mountain Massacre

Just so long as you're not DM'ing from there. :uhoh:

    Writers strike is a go

Huh- didn't realize they pulled their efforts on that. The WGA had been working for that goal up through October, at least. Union busters in the AMPTP and others had been working against them, though.

    Writers strike is a go

It depends on how many shows they've got in the can already- either written scripts (a lot of scripts were already turned in ahead of the strike- perhaps even ahead of schedule in anticipation of the strike). It also depends on production schedules- some shows, like Lost and 24, may not be...

    Writers strike is a go

Which is one of the other sticking points in negotiation (that I hope gets resolved in the union's favor personally).

    Ptolus: The Legend of Longcoat

Vanden shakes his head. "No, I think we've learned all that is likely to be of importance here." He closes the book and rises, letting Maugra take the lead.

D&D 4E Lack of interst in posting since 4e announcement?

I've definitely noticed a lack of postage here at ENWorld on my part since the announcement of 4E. Part of it is due to my lack of a steady workstation at work over the last several months. A big part of it is the announcement. I kind of like some of the (little) information we've received so...

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder 3: The Hook Mountain Massacre

And the horror of the module suddenly takes a backseat... :p

    Ptolus: The Legend of Longcoat

Vanden closed the book and turned to Maugra. "You may be right. It seems likely that if the queen is freed, the sahuagin will once more become a threat." He frowned. "I wonder, though. Perhaps Longcoat served, in a deranged manner, as a guardian of the queen's resting place. With him no longer...

Whedon Back on TV! With Eliza Dushku! On Fox, No Less!

What hassles did he cause for FOX?

    Guild Wars

Finally picked up Eye of the North- it's actually my favorite of the games so far. It may not be a complete campaign in and of itself like the others, but it effectively is (in the sense that the storyline is self-contained). I love how it is more freeform than the other campaigns- where you...

    Ptolus: The Legend of Longcoat

"How does this Water Queen connect with Longcoat, I wonder? Or is it mere coincidence that her apparent place of imprisonment lay right beneath the Ten Bells Tavern?" Vanden wondered aloud. Do the time periods of the Water Queen and the first appearance of Longcoat seem to coincide, even...

Elan vs. Illumians, which ones better?

I did not know that about SoS- that is a pretty cool addition to their origin. Illumians are pretty dumb, to me. I really don't see the need to create an entire race just to have what are, basically, humans with runes floating around their heads. If they ever revisit the Illumian concept, they...

    Ptolus: The Legend of Longcoat

Vanden will peruse the book, looking specifically for references to the Queen that the gnome indicated, and her relation to the city of Ptolus.

PETITION: Keep the term 'Adventure Path' Open Source!

What- are you suggesting they ordered prints of the movie instead of the game?

    Ptolus: The Legend of Longcoat

Vanden accepts the musty book gratefully, opening the cover as he does so. Is this book written in Orcish, or in Elvish. Hopefully the latter, as that's Vanden's other language choice. While, he peruses the book, he asks offhandedly, "Is that little girl supposed to be in here? Or is she lost?"
