TSR TSR3 Blames Widespread Pushback On WotC

"All to often I find myself standing in a corner covered in super glue and pretending to be a coat wrack to freak out my wife" More common ground!

TSR TSR3 Blames Widespread Pushback On WotC

"Edited: I am now confused how to express myself to not be understood wrong." Tammarian? UngerheuerLich, when emotions are high.

TSR TSR3 Blames Widespread Pushback On WotC

"I am reminded of a lawyer over on Twitter who has put forth the Rule of Goats, which is... colorfully unprintable on these boards. It amounts to: If you do a horrid thing for performance, or because it upsets those that you feel are overly sensitive, you still did a horrid thing."...

TSR TSR3 Blames Widespread Pushback On WotC

Wouldn't this problem be solved if everyone just adopted the philosophy that EVERYTHING said by ANYONE on Twitter about ANYTHING is performance art? I no longer assume anything said on that platform bears any relation at all to real people or the real world, and that no one - no one - actually...

    Let's Talk About RPG Worldbuilding

For me, designing a world starts the same as designing a character. What's the "schtick"? What is the one thing that is different, unexpected, not seen or done before about it? Then, "How did that come about?"

    OSR Minimum Requirements for OSR?

You know you have written a good OSR style set of rules when every single person who reads them goes "I would change this part like this...", but they are all talking about different parts.

D&D General MtG Adventures in the Forgotten Realms Spoiler Thread

That's a very clear description Charlaquin, thank you.

TSR TSR3 Blames Widespread Pushback On WotC

But we're not disputing Twitter IS a cesspool, right?

TSR TSR3 Blames Widespread Pushback On WotC

D&D General Defining your campaing through art? Or how I learned to embrace anime elf ears (image-heavy)

"I just thought we needed more threads that say "I found something that I think is neat and makes me happy." I hope that`s okay." That is more than ok. That is the best possible use of the internet!

D&D 5E (2014) [Hit Points] What method do you use to determine HP after level 1?

After a brilliant suggestion in a thread last week, we have adopted: "You can roll, or take the class average. You must decide before you roll. If you roll, you must reroll 1s. You may make a different decision every level."

OSR Izegrim Creations Contributions to the Trevor Project

That is an admirable show of commitment to your principles. Good on you!

D&D General Player Numbers - The Sweet Spot?

Dausuul, that is our policy too. It works suspiciously well.

D&D General Player Numbers - The Sweet Spot?

In the Long Ago I tried running the original Dragonlance Modules with all 7 PCs and the two "Good" NPCs all played by players at the table. 9 players. I still wake up screaming about it.

D&D General Player Numbers - The Sweet Spot?

It's a tough thing to phrase because someone always takes it the opposite way no mater how you say it, but I am assuming you mean "How many players other than the DM at your table?" 5. Definitely 5 PCs.

The problem with Evil races is not what you think

You could create a brand new evil race, run past a dozen cultural consultants to ensure there is no unintentional points of comparison with any real world race or culture, and establish them as basically and inherently evil to use as unapologetic villains in the game... And within 2 months you...

D&D 5E (2014) Bending Problem With Top Heavy Nolzur's Goristro Miniature

One of those open claws look perfect for putting a nice solid polearm in as a support. And if a player says "But Goristros don't use weapons! That so fake." you can either slap them with a sock full of old batteries, or just nod and smile enigmatically while saying "That's right! You've never...

All Characters Should be Good at Talking to NPCs

Every player should be allowed to talk to the NPCs. Roleplaying is for everyone! Only the player designated by the group to "move the needle" however, should actually be rolling the dice for a game effect.
