Advice on a new character: Monk/Runepriest

Okay, first things first: you've misunderstood one of your item properties. Blurred strike ki focus only works for multiple attacks. An area or close attack has several attack rolls, but is still only one attack. So the blurred strike ki focus isn't as useful as you seem to have thought. Now...

    Building a practical unarmed monk

Why do you not like Ki focuses? You don't hit people with them, they're just things you think about to concentrate your essence. At high levels, it just won't work without some enhancement bonus. Until I understand why you don't want a ki focus, I won't be able to point you to a suitable...

    Clerics Hurting to Heal

So you don't like the concept of "look, this is how you do it!" or "Hey, he's leaving his left flank wide open." *whack* "See?"

    Stacking AC bonuses?

One thing to keep in mind is that if you get good enough at evading OAs, the more intelligent monsters may not even bother trying them (they can see that an ally is granting CA due to trying to hit you, they don't want to grant CA to you, they know they're unlikely to hit-> they don't bother trying)

    Did you survive 1-20?

I have never played a game from 1st level. I once GMed a game that started at 1st level (my first time GMing, first time playing for all the players); but it didn't work out well 'til I got everyone to level 2.

    Runepriests

Thematically they could be. Mechanically, trying to mesh the whole runic thing into a non-runic class would be harder than meshing Full Discipline into another class, and I don't see anyone saying that Monk should be a sub-class of rogue.

    Is it time for 5E?

Clearly 5e will change things up a bit, and bring back the idea of running your own kingdom/stronghold. However, due to the success of gamma world, the main 5e line will contain lots of content for sci-fi adventures.

    Polearm Feats

Due to the rules update on charging, said feat is redundant. You can charge adjacent with a polearm anyway.

Question on the level 5 daily for an elf ranger

Hunter's aim simply says that you don't take the attack penalty for cover or concealment. It doesn't allow you to act as though they don't have cover or concealment in any other way. So, no, the combo with the daily doesn't work.

    Runepriests

They really need to errata the rune feats to each state a maximum (maybe a maximum of 7, or 10, something which is impossible at present to beat) and then add more rune feats. But that's really unlikely to happen in that order.

    D&D 4E Calculating 4e monk damage

Your attacks all have the implement keyword, so yes, you can add the damage to your attacks. Just as you channel the energy to improve your accuracy, that same channelled energy grants your fist greater force.

Does the term "a creature" include yourself?

"You are wrong" is not logic. "You are wrong" is a statement. It may be supported by logic, but it is not logic. Calling a statement "incorrect logic" indicates that you don't even understand the basics of logic.

Does the term "a creature" include yourself?

If something is next to me (in my square) is it within 5 feet of me (within one square of me) Well, yes, yes it is. Melee 1 isn't limited to adjacent squares, it can also be used on the same square, it's just that melee 0 can't hit adjacent squares.

Does the term "a creature" include yourself?

An ad hominem is an argument of the form "you are stupid; therefore you are wrong" Saying "You are wrong, here's the evidence. Also, you're stupid" is not an ad hominem. Nor is saying "You are wrong, this is probably because you are stupid"

    Additional Damage from a power...

If you roll dice, it's a damage roll, you add all the modifiers. If you don't roll dice, it's not a damage roll. Given as every damage bonus I can think of applies only to damage rolls, you don't add any modifiers.

    Runepriests

My biggest gripe is that, conceptually, they need to have ritual caster IMO. But they don't. If given some feats that played to that theme, and a few more powers, I would love them. I do like my goliath runepriest|barbarian/battlemind though.

    Disease: Delirium Fever

I would make the intermediate stage slightly less harsh (maybe just "weakened, speed reduced by 2, and cannot go above surge value") simply to make it more different from the advanced stage. As is, in both the intermediate and advanced stage the character is incapable of combat, and needs to be...

    Heal check in combat

Yes, because smelling salts aren't what I think of as first aid. What I think of as first aid is things like bandaging, applying ointments, checking wounds, washing wounds, etc. Waving smelling salts is like feeding someone a potion. Which IIRC, is a minor action. No, it doesn't. But I'm not...

    Heal check in combat

At that point "I place the smelling salts in front of his face as quickly as possible" is clearly a minor action. "I place the smelling salts in front of his face, while keeping my guard up, so I don't get attacked" could, potentially, be a standard action.
