    The Batman Thread

Batman is not a monk or a rogue or a fighter. He doesnt fight dragons, orcs, or trolls (well usually). He doesnt wield magical weapons or spend most of his time spelunking either. He is a d20 character with Martial Arts levels.

    The Batman Thread

Well this is turning out pretty fun despite all the people trying to be serious. How about Bane: Strength 22 (28): Bane is damn near as strong as human beings can possibly be. When he was pumping venom he was stronger than humanly possible. Dexterity 14: For a man 6'9'' inches tall and...

    The Batman Thread

14 for strength? Batman can clean jerk 450 and picks guys up by the lapels all the time. He might not be a 20 but hes stronger than 14. I would also think Batman would be slighty stronger than he is agile (dex) or even about equal in both. Nightwing is definitely the more agile of the two...

    Are point-buy message threads broken?

No 3d6 is totally munchkin. You can have 25 point buy threads but must choose to spread them amongst the seven days of the week as you like.

    The Batman Thread

Batman would be an Epic d20 Modern character. Strong 5/Fast 3/Martial Artist 10/Investigator 8 Str 20 Dex 18 Con 16 Wis 16 Int 18 Cha 14 Alignment - NG with Lawful tendencies That would be my guess.

Point-buy or rolling? Your preference and why?

*Well I dont know why my original post was deleted* I give 80 points flat and let my players place them anywhere they wish. I require all scores have at least an 8 and none higher than 18. The players can make any characters they want and they are strong. I have absolutely no problem running...

    Should adventurers be "better"?

I think the fact that this question even has to be asked reflects exactly what is wrong with the modern day of reasoning. Now most everybody lives a pampered life and sits back in their comfy homes/apartments, gets on the net or tv and expects things. They think they deserved what everybody...

    point buy or standart array?

I just give my players 80 points and let them put them where ever they feel like. Minium of 8 max of 18. Everybody can make the character they want and I dont have to listen to complaints for 3 sessions.

    [3.5] Rangers lose medium armor!

Re: Re I think you miss the point. The Ranger is not supposed to be interchangeable with the fighters role in the 4 person group. Fighter, Cleric, Rogue, Wizard are one group. Ranger, Bard, Druid, Sorc are a second. The second group is more versatile and less specialized than the first.

Complete Warrior to have new base classes

Right. And you take your lumps for multclassing. Its not supposed to be a free ride.

Complete Warrior to have new base classes

And I for one cant figure out what is wrong with a wizard 10/cleric 10.

Complete Warrior to have new base classes

To me the more core classes that are available the closer 3E seems to a point buy based system. I dont necessarily think that is a bad thing. I could see a fighter class who gives up medium and heavy armor proficiency for an ability similiar to a Duelists dodge ability when in light or medium...

    Would you Kill Mordenkainen?

If you are going to ice Mordy you definitely bring a Gem of Soul stealing to the party. What self respecting assassin needs a recently resurrected Mordy trying to kill them?

Is power critical worth a feat?

Didnt WOTC themselves say when they first released 3.0 that feats should not be designed with limited uses in mind. One of the first Dragon mags to come out after the release of 3E had several pages written by one of th designers dedicated to feat creation and it specifically mentioned: -...

    Is your group multiclassing?

Lots of multiclassing in my games. We banned the hell out of all those broken PrCs though. It wierd how character creation/playing can seem so much more interesting when you characters entire life span isnt geared in an effort to become an Arcane Archer or Archmage.

Which fighting style does your fighter use?

Hmm this thread seems to indicate to me that Dual Wielding really does suck now. I guess most people only do it for flavor. I wonder if it would change if absolute ambidexterity was a CORE feat.
