    Well, if you have an intelligent, Dancing weapon, it could activate itself in the core rules, no problem. A dedicated power that gives some form of summoning effect to do so? Not really a problem if you're the DM (although your DM might have problems with it if you're a player).

    Mind-control. Unless he's already got a permanent solution to being Dominated, he'll want something to counter mind-control. Magic Circle Against Good / Protection from Good would go well. If you really want to play up the whole "uncachable" theme, though, try Word of Recall.
